Closing on a House Built in 1915 Friday

We are very excited about this Old House.
We moved here to Baton Rouge a few months after Katrina and house choices were very slim.
We finally found our house, built in 1915 ,5400 sq. ft. and its 5 min from LSU in the Garden District.
We will be doing alot of work on the house including a new kitchen.
We will not be moving in until Sept. 1st. Got to have a kitchen!!
I will post pics of the house when I can. It is an interesting old house. It has been empty for close to 2 years.
Pics coming soon.
Troy just told me I have the closing date wrong, its not until the 12th.

Amen to that.I love Baton Rouge.I miss my weekly shopping trip to the mall
and to www.calandros.com for cheese cakes and olives. You have to get a pecan praline one. They are awesome.I got the pumpkin ones for ladies conference and my pastors wife had to give directions to preachers for a stop over on their way home after the conference. The men ate the left overs and couldn't get enough.
The pumpkin ones had white chocolate topping.

Our house was built in 1912... Only 2400 sq ft though.

Old houses come with their pros & cons but they are nice overall.

We had to take the beadboard down in a room we are converting to a master bath... the beadboard was put up with square nails.

I just love old houses.
