The Land Of Wandering.
Then Cain went away from the presence of The Lord, and settled in the land of NOD,east of Eden.GEN.4:16 ESV
In Genesis chapter 4 we have the biblical account of how The Lord had put Cain away from His presence due to the fact of his killing his brother ABEL.
We see that Cain went away from the presence of The Lord, and settled in the land of Nod.
Now in Hebrew NOD, means wandering. You see when folks get away from God and His Spirit then they are wandering for something to satisfy their inner most being.
Only being in the manifest presence of God,and being touched by his Spirit can bring peace to our life. You see killing one's brother can drive the presence of God from our life.
We might not physically kill our brother or sister in Christ, but our tongues and harsh spirits we can destroy a fellow citizen of the Kingdom of God.
May we not be jealous of our brother or sister In Christ, and do as Cain and seek to harm our brother.
Because when we do things that drive the presence of God away from our lives,we will go to wandering trying to fill a void in our lives that only an encounter with a Holy God can fill.
May we live in the land of Shechem which means upper which can be a type of being seated in a Heavenly place rather than dwell in the land Of NOD,where our souls are left to wander.

Cain's error manifested itself in the following order.
Jealousy to bitterness
bitterness to anger
anger to hatred
Hatred to murder
He never checked himself at any stage of anger. He found no place of repentance.

Brother Scott, I am writing something and need your thoughts. What do you thing was God's reason to mark Cain? So that no one else should slay him?

Gen.4:15 "And the LORD said to him, "therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him 7fold'' And the LORD set a mark on Cain, lest anyone finding him should kill him."NKJV
It appears to me that he was marked so noone would kill him.

I think perhaps Cain was marked by God,so no one could slay him,was proably due to the fact, that Enoch, was to be Cain's son.
God in his foreknowledge knew this, for Enoch was to be an outstanding person of sanctity who enjoyed close fellowship with God.
See GEN.5:24 since God took him,the account of Enoch can give hope of life beyond death.
See Enoch walked with God,and it pleased God,this can encourage us that our faith can please God.

Adam and Eve... Gen 3:20 And Adam called his wifes name Eve,because she was the mother of all living
Gen 5;4After he begot Seth , the days of Adam were 800 years; and he had sons and daughters"...I'm sure that they had many offspring that were not specifically mentioned
