Dems leader says no room for pro-life views

Those of you who are Dems and pro-life need to find another party.

“Every Democrat, like every American, should support a woman’s right to make her own choices about her body and her health,” stated Perez. “That is not negotiable and should not change city by city or state by state.”

She said the pro-life Democrats, like Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.V., are buckling under the pressure to conform.
“Joe Manchin, who for a long time now has been the only reliable pro-life vote in the Senate, took a picture with Planned Parenthood supporters and said that he’s all in for Planned Parenthood,” Quigley said.

How many is that, anyway? One? A dozen? I doubt very much there are many actual pro-life democrats.

Ha!
There are those who would say that the GOP has become the party that has poo-poo'ed away the personal freedoms of and liberties of all Americans in the name of national security and personal morality.

Neither party is pro-liberty, these days.
However, the Repub's seem to be more willing to tolerate a wide range of viewpoints, than the Dems.

I agree that neither party is pro-liberty. The Democrats want to remove 2A and even to an extent 1A when it comes to hate speech. Meanwhile, the GOP wants to snoop on everyone in the name of national security.

Re: Dems leader says no room for pro-life views

Personally, I think this is an idiotic statement.

The DFLA, Democrats for Life of America, is a league of Democrats who are decidedly pro-life (from womb to tomb), advocating for not only pro-life policies regarding abortion, but are also advocates for policies relating to universal health insurance, anti-poverty measures, paid parental leave, living wage, abolishing the death penalty, anti-euthanasia, and that are pro-environmental conservation.

While they are a minority within the Democratic Party, they are present. They made their presence known with the ACA. The DFLA drafted the 95/10 Initiative, a series of legislative actions that are designed to reduce the abortion rate by 95% within 10 years of implementation... without even banning abortion. These initiatives are designed to address the issues that women face when confronted with a crisis pregnancy. Several of these policies were put into the Pregnant Women Support Act and were eventually written into the ACA. It truly was one of the greatest advancements of pro-life legislation within two decades. Yet because it was done by Democrats, it wasn't reported on through the conservative news media. And since the leadership of the Democratic Party is presently Pro-Choice, it wasn't really talked about in the liberal media either.

I think this guy needs to wake up and realize that many Catholics, mainline Protestants, Jews, and others are deeply religious, value life, and still identify as Democrats for various reasons. In fact, when asked if abortion was "morally wrong", 1 in 3 registered Democrats agreed that it was. And when it came to being asked if abortion should be safe, legal, and rare... 2 out of 3 agreed.

So, among voters registered as Democrat, abortion still isn't viewed as being a positive thing, even among those who are pro-choice.

Here are some Pro-Life Democrat sources:
