Gorsuch Confirmed To SCOTUS!

Congrats to POTUS and the GOP for moving forward with the Gorsuch confirmation!

A decade ago and Gorsuch would have breezed through confirmation. Not even the liberal activists like Ginsberg and Soto-Mayer had the kind of obstruction and difficulty Gorsuch had.

I'm just glad Trump didn't cave and the GOP had the stones to use the nuclear option. Should Trump not do much else, getting Gorsuch confirmed was what conservatives, even #NeverTrumpers, hoped would happen with Trump as POTUS.

We can go back and forth, but when the Dems used the nuclear option for judicial appointments, then all the "old" rules were out the window.
You can't change the rules for your benefit, then complain about the other side doing the same.

Ironically, the reason for the resistance was based on a Democrat (the previous VP), who two decades or so ago stated that it was "not fair" to allow a lame duck President to make such an important decision. The resistance wasn't partisan or ideological. Had Hillary Clinton won the election, Congress would have voted for her nominee. The resistance was allowing obama to nominate someone in his last few months.

With Gorsuch, it was plainly partisan. Democrats wanted to obstruct for the sake of obstructing.
