Testimony To The Truth
I was first introduced to the Apostolic faith back in the early 90's by a friend of mine. Here is a blog I wrote about how I went to God and asked Him to let me know if it was true that every one who receives the Holy Spirit will speak in tongues, and I asked Him if He was Jesus (if God and Jesus are one in the same person), and if He wanted every believer to be baptized in the name of Jesus. And God answered each time by leading me to the scriptures and giving me revelation and undetstanding by His Spirit, and confirmed theses things to me and made me to know that they are true. Those aren't just personal beliefs, or just some denominational thing, those are the teachings of God, that's what God teaches about it.

hmm. think so, huh? So if someone was able to demonstrate a different truth from Scripture, insisting that God had taught it to them, what then?

if they came to a different conclusion than the truth of God's Word then it wasn't God that led them.

that is why i am here, yes; not even so much to argue the conclusions--which are also demonstrably false, wadr.

Re: Testimony To The Truth
the truth of the Word is that diverse tongues is a gift, not a standard. Why create a division, where none was needed?

Thank You. And I've heard that recently after talking with some people online. I haven't heard that being used among the Apostolic churches yet, though. It might be because how many are so used to the traditional translation of Matthew 28;19, and so much material already written based on it. But if that is the true interpretation of Matthew 28;19, then that's what we should teach.

Grenades are for the enemy. If it's contrary to the word of God then it's not truth. The Holy Spirit will not teach anything contrary to the word of God. That's how we know the difference between the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. The whole point of my testimony was to show that this is according to the word of God, and that God had shown me the scriptires that teach these things, and gave me revelation and understanding of them, confirming these things to me by His Spirit.
