Benghazi In Proper Perspective
From the article:
The Anti-Muslim Video Had Nothing to Do With the Attack?
On the day of the attack, one of us (Malcolm Nance) was leaving Abu Dhabi for Benghazi and Tripoli to conduct a security assessment that was canceled as news of massive protests in Cairo culminated with the American Embassy compound being stormed. News networks Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya showed the Muslim world aflame with disgust over the insulting video, “Innocence of the Muslims.” From within the punchbowl, everything around us looked like punch. It was not until much later that we learned the terrorist group used the outrage of the video as a mask to conduct a pre-planned attack. That’s the nature of terrorism. We could go into the squabble over the talking points, but you can read more about that here.

It's an interesting read, if you're interested in actually thinking.

Re: Benghazi In Proper Perspective
I disagree with their summation of the role of the video in the Benghazi attack.
I think it was purely coincidental that the video was released at the same time of the attack.
I think that Washington's first hunch of the response to the video being a part of what was happening in Benghazi was to be expected. However, once it became clear to the Administration that the video had NOTHING to do with the attack, then they should have said so.
The million dollar question follows. When did it become clear to Washington that the Muslim video had nothing to do with the attack in Benghazi?
My conservative guess is that it would have taken more than one week to sort everything out in Benghazi-- being reasonable here.
The fact that our Administration got it wrong within the first five - seven days is not good, but definitely understandable.
Now if three weeks or a month had gone by and they were sticking to bad intel, then I couldn't defend that.

Re: Benghazi In Proper Perspective
It's not that innocent. Again and again behind the scenes the administration KNEW this was an organized attack by terrorists. "We know" Hillary said in her communique to Middle East leaders. They weren't confused. They weren't getting misleading intel. They weren't trying to decipher reams of conflicting info. Hillary said "we know" that this had nothing to do with the Internet video.
Stop the shilling for this dishonest and corrupt White House. It's to the point of shameful.

Thread should be titled, "Benghazi in a false perspective." As DB pointed out, by her own admission, Hillary wasn't duped by bad Intel or the fog of war. This admin knew. obama knew. Hillary knew. They all knew. And they lied about it.

Hillary told her daughter on the 12th, the day AFTER the attack that it was deliberate and not a protest...
YET she stood over the bodies of the dead, looked the families in the face, and said, "We will get the man who made the videos."
Obama needed it to ba an attack for his reelection!!

She told the Egyptian leadership that some group of terrorists were responsible for the attack because they said they were responsible for the attack.
She gave a briefing to the American people, 48 hours later, a few hours after that same terrorist group RECANTED their responsibility.
Seriously, I think you guys are blinded by your disgust with Democrats in general. Demanding that the intel specialists and politicians have all the answers and everything worked out in less than one week after an attack is not really reasonable.
You act as if there were no riots and protests happening at the same time on the same day that were directly related to that stupid video! A LOT happened around the same time, around the world. Be reasonable.

Re: Benghazi In Proper Perspective
What the implication was by the Dems was to "blame the victim".
To somehow say that our freedom of speech was at fault for Benghazi.
That is why this administration is so revolting to me.
They do not like our basic rights as Americans.
Freedom of speech, religion, press, guns, they want to control all of it.
