More Soviet style unemployment stats

http://www.cnn.com/2015/03/06/politi...arges-planned/

Just disregard those that have chronic unemployment and, like the USSR of old, you can say everybody is working!!

Originalist, the economy is a lot stronger than it was in 2010 for the nation as a whole.

I hope you get a job soon. Even more, I hope you go back to school and become employable again. You deserve it. You're a good guy.

Why isn't a guy who already has a Bach degree, a great track record and is bilingual not already considered "employable"? Brother, if you are saying that all those who have given up looking for a job were "unemployable", then I worry about you.

You will defend Obama to your dying breath.

This is a phony recovery promoted by a media that is just as leftist as the hero they trip over themselves to protect. Obama is a failure and is intentionally driving our country into the dirt. I think you are a good guy as well. I just hope you see the truth before it is too late.

As NDavid posted.....

That is not a recovery.

Re: More Soviet style unemployment stats

So which is it? Is Obama's "recovery" phony or are these people just "not employable"?

ha, c'mon--"not employable" means that someone else will do their job for slave wages overseas; and NAFTA has robbed you of your sovereignty to impose tariffs.

Re: More Soviet style unemployment stats

2-3% of American citizens are now living and working abroad.

Since 2009 this number has doubled. Why?

American companies are not expanding in the US, they are expanding in other countries. The lie that we were sold by Reagan etc was this: Cutting corporate taxes will create investment in the US which would in turn create more jobs. The truth and what happened is that the savings went into lower cost production of goods in other countries which are then imported at no cost into the US and the money generated from this was put into overseas accounts free of bother from the IRS.

If an American citizen has more than $10,000 in an overseas account the IRS goes nuts and requires the bank and the citizen to keep draconian amounts of paperwork on that account, resulting in many banks refusing to open an account for a US citizen. American companies in the meantime are holding trillions of dollars in overseas accounts, money that as long as it stays overseas is free from IRS scrutiny.

IF: Our tax policy continues to reward these companies and continues to reward imports over production then the job market will never turn around. The Americans who work overseas are not working "tax free", they pay taxes to the countries where they are working then those taxes get credited back and they pay the difference to the IRS.

Obama is trying to change this tax policy by taxing these foreign earnings then offering a credit if the earnings are invested back in the US. I do not like Obama nor did I vote for Obama but this is the right direction for tax policy.

Summary: If you are wondering where your jobs went they are here, not there.

The solution is to eliminate all federal taxes on ALL income, corporate or private.
