Un-Saved Amish, thoughts?
I'll wait to post my views in full, just seeing what the mood is on this subject...
I can tell you the Menno's told us day 1 that they honestly feel "they will burn in hell".
I read textbooks that label thema cult.
I hear others that claim to be Christian call them cults.
Much more....
We know them and we love those we know, & cannot see a lifetime of servitude ending badly for them...
thoughts?
"gotta be more interesting then the Mormonism thread :P"

Re: Un-Saved Amish, thoughts?
I have studied the Amish and Mennonites extensively. Some of them are saved, some of them are not. Same as UPC and other Jesus name people.

Newbie, what exactly is your question?

Do those in Apostolic doctrine/faith believe that there is no eternal life for un-saved Amish, based on their extreme discipline and life works?
I know scripture says not by works, but what's your personal thoughts on this?

If someone truly is "Unsaved" then they are , well... unsaved - Amish or not.
As someone who was "Amish" (well OK, Horse & Buggy Mennonite) I was saved before I left and became Pentecostal.
I see no reason to believe someone is saved or unsaved simply by their conservative lifestyle.

I'm not asking if they are saved by works, I'm asking do you feel they will be damned for not being saved despite their works?
Old order Menno?! You have to have some stories I would love to hear

Come on now, interested in views here....
Reason why? It is one of the top 3 reasons why I do not see forgiveness an automatic. (How can Amish dedicate their ENTIRE life to God & not go to sit with Him, but a murderer can taken up by just being forgiven???)
SO if I can get some other pieces to add to the puzzle I might get a better idea of what it is I'm looking at
*Also feel free to start a blog on such stories, you know we would be reading it

Re: Un-Saved Amish, thoughts?
Ok. All are saved by grace through faith, Amish et al.
For example, While I see proclaiming/involking the name of Jesus at baptism the better interpretation, I do not believe that means only Oneness Pentecostals will be in heaven! There are very plain (read conservative) Amish that have accepted Jesus and are saved - trusting not in their works but the shed blood of the lamb for salvation.
I believe many Amish are forgiven and in the body of Christ - same as a murderer may be.
Further, I believe we are all held responsible for what we know... He is a just and righteous judge.
