NJ Town Rejects Non-Union Workers Help

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/hurr...rical-workers/

It almost sounds too outrageous to be true, and yet it is not.

With millions still struggling to get power in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, non-union work crews from Alabama have been turned away by New Jersey. The reason? Their non-union status.

Have you posted a falsehood ??

http://nj1015.com/report-non-union-a...om-new-jersey/

Nope.

Workers from one of three Alabama utilities, touted by Governor Christie as coming a great distance to help restore power, were reportedly turned away by a crew in Seaside Heights because they did not belong to a union.

Decatur Utilities workers were sent to Long Island instead according to Huntsville, Alabama TV station WAFF because “they were told by crews in Seaside Heights that they can’t do any work there since they’re not union employees” according to one of the employees.

From YOUR link.

Re: NJ Town Rejects Non-Union Workers Help

BTW, Light. I don't have a problem with Unions, our family benefits from my husbands Union. Even though he's retired. I do however have a problem with a city turning away help after such devastation. Our area gets frequent tornadoes, and Electric workers from other states sometimes come and help. Maybe they are Union, I don't know for sure. If they turned away non-Union workers I would be upset.

I wonder if this happened after Katrina and Rita?

I don't know, maybe that town had all the help it needed with Union workers only.

I can understand this decision.

People have the right to make principled decisions.

The logic is not very different than rejecting an imported, foreign built thingamajig and spending a few extra dollars to buy the same thingamajig that is made in America.

You mean the power company had the right to refuse help? Because for sure workers from another state are foreign.
