My visit back to UPCI (long post sorry)
I previously posted in Left UPCI a yr ago still messed up... and I think in some holiness debate threads... Wanted to start a new one to share this past Sunday's visit to a newly started UPCI.
First THANK YOU to you who have prayed for me... God did a miracle in my husbands life a few weeks ago and he is on fire again... I would get up with him to pray in mornings. To make this short God showed me somethings that were wrong in my spirit like pride... He used my husband to give me a word early Sun. morning. I repented of alot of things. We weren't even sure if we should go to this church... I am so glad we did. They have been there a yr... only a handful of people... I didn't feel judged by them... welcomed with sincere love. I admit I was still uncomfortable and nervous at first (feeling it out). I worshipped wholeheartedly, they all were too... one of the ladies prayed with me and spoke sooo much stuff that was right on I could hardly believe it. God is so merciful! This pastor did not shout and scream like alot of them do. He is so different. I feel so fortunate. I told them how I felt about how most of the churches are and they know exactly what I am talking about and are praying against those spirits. This is the real thing with these people and what I have been desiring.
I don't want anymore going thru the motions even with pentecost. And I don't want the other extreme with the L.S. that its all yelling, clapping, a move of God and then they wait for the next L.S. conference. Even L.S. says stuff like whats wrong with us why can't we get a hold of this? (kinda like they are staying on the milk and he can't take them off the bottle).
I say that with all respect, I know alot of stuff is said of him on here, I don't even know what to think but God showed me to be careful what I say about a man of God. I don't know yet what I believe about the holiness issue either. L.S. is supose to be so intune with the Spirit and said covering meant uncut Greek/Hebrew. Then I get Aquilla and ComeAsYouAre, is that who? that has her study too of the Gr/Hebr. And what they say makes sense but its hard to not believe L.S. Yet it still makes no sense why we bind our hair up, why some still have it short, why some still do it up fancy... I guess I look to much at everyone else and maybe God is telling me to have my own walk with Him. Make up in my own mind, seeking Him of course, and follow that... its just if I attend this church I kinda have to leave my hair uncut? (I have bangs now). And I have to work very hard to not judge others,
But what I really mean to say is after what God did in that service I don't care as much. I just want God, who cares about my hair... (but I am human, I do struggle wanting to cut and style it!)
I also want to share one time long ago, I visited a small church in IN, I was by myself going thru a hard time, seeking God, and the man at the pulpit in song service sensed God wanted to do something and I was so humbled... I knew it was me he was talking about, I went up and they all prayed for me and let God move cutting into what would have been the preaching time.
The reason I say this is anyone of you may be where I was and just need a different church, hopefully another one is near... not sure what I am saying, just trying to encourage... I don't know any other church where the spirit of God moves/ministers so much, I missed that. And we all need to pray for the other upci churches that need it, you know what I mean.... I need to pray and not judge them like I have been...
Thank you again for your prayers!

Re: My visit back to UPCI (long post sorry)
Krt, by all means, please do attend any Biblical Apostolic church system, organized or not where you feel the Holy Ghost moving and kinship with the people.
It is what God will have us to do, to assemble together for the worshipping of Him. One day perhaps there will be a church in my region where I can go and worship without the feeling of being judged by my clothes or my hair.
I pray that God will keep on blessing you and your husband. We all need Him....even more desperately in the days to come.
Thank you for sharing your blessings with us.

Good post AYR, and agreed!
We must walk according to how the spirit leads us, and it is different for each one of us. We are not cookie-cutter christians. Praise God that you have found a time of repentance in your life (which we all need pruning from the spirit!) and now walking into a time of healing.
Will continue to pray with you and your husband for a continued blessing of fellowship with other believers, and a closer relationship with Jesus Christ than ever before.

glad you found a church where you can go together and feel like you are where you can fit in.
i had to go to a "trinity" church to find a place where both my wife and I can go, be accepted, and be used in teaching and praying.
