Dread: Have it your way, American theocrats?

Every day 22,000 children die of hunger globally
Over 109,000 have died as a result of the Iraqi War since 2003.
Several hundred dead after New Zealand earthquake ...

and there is a foreboding spiritual dread enveloping those who had a pre-sentiment over the 3,000 deaths on 9/11 - because of 24/7 American news, dispensationalist hysteria or too much fiber in their diet?

Truly our God is American.

Stop being so selfish.

Re: Dread: Have it your way, American theocrats?

Ok, I did have my own incident happen to me the morning of 9/11 -before I got up and even knew anything important was going on. I've told very few people since it lends itself to endless lampooning.

Having said that, I agree with you for the most part. However, on one hand 10 people dying on your own block is as big of a news story to your world as 100 dying a state away, or 1000 dying on the opposite coast or 10,000 dying overseas. The closer to you physically or the more it effects your country, the bigger deal it is.

But I can also imagine how much these people who died in the towers (and their grieving widows) have been granted virtual saint hood and benefited VERY well financially compare to other Americans who died of more mundane causes THAT SAME DAY such as in a random car wreck or other accident. Must stink to die in an auto accident in FL and have your wife receive nothing when someone died in New York and that family got 5 million.

All of it tragic ... and a consequence of our world's condition.

Randy ... btw, I believe in intuition and prophetic giftings.... it just seems when mixed with Scofeldian dispensationalism, apocalyptic fearmongering and a spiritualized American worldview we get a lethal cocktail ... that often hurts the Church when the predictions of doom and gloom fall short.

Somehow some would replace this with the Gospel.

What's up DA.
Don't you know that we are more righteous than other nations?
We are God's chosen people.
Whatever America wants has to be what God wants, also.

Stop being so selfish.
Self righteous comes to mind when I read this post and another example of harrassing another member.

Exactly what the Identity doctrine teaches.

Wow.

This needs to be where more people can see it.

It becomes the ultimate act of cold reading. Classic dispensationalism allows for virtually any prophesy to come to pass since there is no limit on either time to fulfillment or symbolism involved. You can strand up in church and tell of your dream which featured Elvis riding a mule through a swamp while seven X-Wing fighters flew in formation overhead and it can be made to tie into the end times or foretell a future event. What event? Any one of a million!
