Why do we want to know so much? Is it inherent in us to learn? What do we want to know about, and why? What are we learning on this earth, that prepares us for eternity?

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micah 6:8 KJV
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2 KJV
Well at least spiritually speaking we want to know because we want to know the truth. Paul told the Saints they were saved by belief of the truth.
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 2 Thess. 2:13
The "so much" would seem to be to know the whole counsel of God.
Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I [am] pure from the blood of all [men].
For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. Acts 20:28
The scriptures encourage knowing the truth.
For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.3 John 3-4
Yeshua is pleased when his disciples want to know him accurately. He is disturbed when they do not know the truth. Thats why all the warnings about false teaching. It blurs or knowing the Savior in spirit and truth.
Why do we want to know so much? Is it inherent in us to learn? What do we want to know about, and why? What are we learning on this earth, that prepares us for eternity?

even eve was tempted with obtaining knowledge. I think it has to do with the fact there is a greater being in the univers, God, even a greater civilization, angels. There are many things we don't know. How to prolong our lives with medicine, trees for the healing of the nations. It is in our self interest to know more.
I believe eternity is going to see God's children rule with Him throughout the entire physical universe. We won't be floating on clouds playing harps! All life's trials, learning to be led by the Spirit, and becoming more Christlike is readying us for the qualities we will require in this eternal Kingdom. It would blow our minds if we knew what we shall be doing then. We merely taste of the powers of the age to come. Imagine what it will be like!

"Many Christians do not try to understand what was written in a verse in the Bible. Instead they approach the passage to prove what they already believe."
Why do we want to know so much? Is it inherent in us to learn? What do we want to know about, and why? What are we learning on this earth, that prepares us for eternity?
Who said we wanted to know so much?
Sometimes, it's better when you don't know.
