Jesus, son of an architect?

Very interesting read:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/news...ok-claims.html

Can our faith stretch when our perceptions are stretched, even shattered, or challenged?

Re: Jesus, son of an architect?

"...tekton, a Greek word that meant not merely a carpenter skilled in making cabinets or furniture but a designer, construction engineer, or ARCHITECT. A tekton could build a house, construct a bridge, or design a temple." "It is highly unlikely that Jesus was a carpenter. If we examine the 48 parables that occur in the Gospels, not a single one draws upon the experiences of a carpenter." http://www.jesuspolice.com/common_error.php?id=6

I suppose it carries about the same weight as other arguments that site supports. That Jesus was wealthy, married, clean shaven, rich, not God, not born of a virgin and there simply is no empty tomb.

Awe man! I thought he was for real, and now this.

Re: Jesus, son of an architect?

Tekton can mean builder or craftsman. Being a stone mason is real possibility.

There is lots of stone where he was raised as opposed to wood and his teachings and parables allude more to stones and building than carpentry.

I found it absolutely facinating. He has some good points.
