A gift from the 5th largest church in the nation

Lifechurch is the 5th largest church in the nation now. They actually give away everything they use for their sermon series after they are done with them as a gift to other churches. Videos, promotional materials, sermon slides, advertising pieces, etc etc. Its pretty amazing and is a good resource for anyone else looking for sermon goodies.

Do they give them the church members after each sermon?

I've heard of churches that give away members.

I've actually heard of a church that recommended that people in certain neighborhoods or areas go to a specific new church that was being planted.

From 1992 to 2006 I went to a church in the Cincinnati area called The Vineyard Community Church. There are about 25 Vineyard congregations in this area of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky that have sprung from this congregation. In some cases the pastors of those new church plants were trained/apprenticed in our church and helped financially when they branched out.

I know of two times our church helped other churches (non-Vineyard churches) financially to get buildings so they could continue their ministries. One church I don't know the details about but there was some problem with someone (contractor I think) who took their money and disappeared and the Vineyard gave them enough to continue their program and complete the church. In another instance, our Vineyard gave $800 thousand to another congregation so they could buy our building from us when we were trying to build another building. On the 20th anniversary year of the Vineyard in Cincinnati, they gave $20,000 each month to some other church or ministry in this area. I wasn't going to the Vineyard at that time but the director of Operation Serve told me that they were the recipient of the gift one month and it allowed them to buy a building for their ministry in Mexico City. Operation Serve already had much of the money but the amount the Vineyard gave them was enough to add to their money and meet the purchase price of the building they wanted.

The church I go to now gives out backpacks with school supplies when school starts in the fall; coats in the fall; turkeys at Thanksgiving; and gifts to children/families at Christmas.

Yes, I've done a lot of "servant evangelism."
I no longer go to that church but I have a lot of respect for what they are and what they do. Today I went to a hospital and prayed for some people as part of a Vineyard Home and Hospital team. Because I am retired and have more time than some others, the leader of the Vineyard Home and Hospital Visitation Team often calls me to go with him.
