"God Told Me to Grow a Beard"
God telling someone to grow a beard or not - that is just weird. Or is it??
Perhaps the same could be said about picking and eating corn on the sabbath... it matters nothing of great consequence... nevertheless would we say Christ did not "hear from God" to do this very thing?
Sometimes I think the Lord inspires people with holy rebellion, a divine intolerance for "sacred" rules that are rubbish. Some things, even things that were "good" at one time can become a barrier or a stumbling block.

AMEN! There are about 4 or 5 brothers in my assembly that have grown beards, and I almost wish I could grow a beard myself to join them. I'll probably let my sideburns grow out and then go from there... I'd definitely like to have a beard once I have a wife and kids.

Re: "God Told Me to Grow a Beard"
To me a beard is personal preference ,I don't think you need a vistation from God to grow one is one so desires to,I do think one should check their motives if they decide to grow one,and too if it causes a probelm in the church you attend, you might should give that some consideration.
To grow a beard out of spite or something would not be a brotherly thing to do,personally I have no probelms with brethren who have facial hair.

Re: "God Told Me to Grow a Beard"
I knew a man who believed that God told him to shave half his head. When I asked why, with a wide eyed glare he said the Lord told him, "One half is television - the other half is the internet." I think God tells some folks what to do just so the rest of us know who the crazies are.

What God is really saying in regards to this previous paragraph is:
Use upper case letters to start a thought,
Use some punctuation,
Use paragraphs.
That is a VERY hard paragraph to read.
Thanks

Re: "God Told Me to Grow a Beard"
When I was just a little kid my mother told me, and she was a very wise lady, to never trust a man who felt that he had to hide his identity behind a bunch of facial hair.

That of course is still true right? The difficult thing is determining who is or is not hiding behind their beard...
