Why do you think McCain lost?
I think he lost because Obama controlled the ebb and flow of discussion.
I think he lost because he has never embraced conservatism, and his attempts to assert otherwise came across as disengenuous.
I think he lost because he really is a "Maverick." He is such a maverick that the American people, liberal and conservative, could not identify with him.
I think he lost because Sarah Palin was villified mercilessly by the mainstream press.

Re: Why do you think McCain lost?
I think the main reason he lost is because of the economic meltdown.
I think the next reason was the dissatisfaction with Geoge Bush and the warS.

Re: Why do you think McCain lost?
It was a perfect storm, and it blew him into office. He is in for the ride of his life, "For the Lord holds the king's heart in His hand to turn it as He pleases."

Re: Why do you think McCain lost?
like the others said, the economy.
people voted out of anger, fear & emotion
I think also, he was old and tired looking - He didn't have the fight in him he should have had.
He wanted to play nice and it didn't work

Re: Why do you think McCain lost?
A Republican was in office and there's economic troubles etc., so people figured a Demoncrat would be a quick fix.

Re: Why do you think McCain lost?
Obama had a LOT more money to fund his campaign but I can't help thinking the Republicans in general and the McCain campaign co-ordinators let us down.
to begin with I was disappointed they elected him to begin with. Clearly he did not connect with the voters so the idea of electing a Mavarick was pointless.
The #issue is the Economy and McCain is not a genius on the Economy.
They focused on attacking Obama but not the Democrats in general who were the ones that really brought the house down as it were in the recent economic crisis. It was their failed "give a loan to anyone" agenda that started this and their lying that fannie and Freddie were fiscially fine when they were not.
I felt too the campaing over all was focused too much on attacking and not really explaining their plans. During the debates I did not feel McCain really addressed Obama's attacks on McCains ideas.
They never did a good job of "breaking" with Bush vs all the "Vote McCain and get 4 more years of Bush" stuff...all the did do was have Sarah Palin say over and over "We are gonna bring change because John McCain is a Mavarick".
Which is the next problem. She was a polital blunder. Im sure the Republicans loved her but she did not do a thing to raise the confidence of undecided voters or those that were leaning towards Obama. They needed someone with a better deeper record and knew what was going on.
Sarah Palin ended up becoming a script reader of anti Obama rhetoric.
That is not to say McCain would not be good or is not qualified but their campaign just did not really do a good job of presenting what his "fixes" are and how he is NOT like George Bush to the American public but focused instead on "gotchas"....like the Ayers connection and Acorn...clearly that did not mean much to enough of the voters

Re: Why do you think McCain lost?
God has sent a strong delusion upon America. Here was a man who went to a racist, Marxist Church. He hob knobed with domestic terrorists. He scoffed at the Bible. He lied about financing his campaign. He was a member of the "New Party" a Socialist group whose picture appeared in a News article as a member.
In his speeches he makes sure to equate "straight and gay". He supports the murder of innocent Children. He wants to abolish the Coal industry and says he will make your Electric bill SKYROCKET.
All this and Americans have voted him to be their Ruler.
I can see no logic in electing him so it must be supernatural. God has set him over America for its harm.

Yes, and this was a horrible disservice to her.
