What Do We Seek?

I have been sitting at here musing about what it is that Apostolics are seeking and I have concluded that we are missing it when it comes to God.

Here we are worrying whether or not Obama will be as bad as he is, or whether McCain will be another GWB that we forget that our hope isn't in this world.
Neither was the early Church's hope in this present world.

Ever since I came into the Church over 25 years ago, the world hasn't gotten better, but it has gotten worse.

What we are squabbling about here in politics today will be peanuts in just a few short years IMO.

I and my wife were talking the other night and she said that if it wasn't for our kids and a few more souls to gather in, she wants to go to be with Jesus!
Lately, I have been feeling the same thing.
Let's get what souls we can and get outa here!

This world will never truly be home to a One God Apostolic!
Nor will this world enact laws that will even give me a modicum of feeling that we are somehow making a difference in our world's governments.

Where does your hope lie?

If it is in McCain or Obama, you are going to be sorely disappointed when on the Wednesday Morning after the vote that things are still the same and in fact getting worse!

Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;

Ron,
I think we all feel the same way. The politics and other issues are side notes of life. We like to discuss them, but, for the most part, I wouldn't say it sidetracks us from what we are doing here and our responsibility to reach the lost. JMO.

Agreed?

I wasn't trying to say that.
I think we are putting to much hope in the political arena.

I was only trying to say that I guess I am a little homesick for a place I have never been before.

One in which 'Righteousness" dwells.

I am just rambling!

I agree with you, Sister. I have fun with these political discussions, but I know who is or isn't in the White House isn't gonna matter a hill of beans, in the grand scheme of things. The world is gonna continue to get worse and worse, just like the Bible says.

I agree - 1Co 15:19 "If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable."

Nonetheless, I am voting for McCain.

I agree, Rico! I just don't want anyone to blame me if Obama gets in, so I have to say I'm voting for McCain.

How about voting for "none of the above?"
