Falla's Gma, First to Obey Apostolic Message
Falla's Grandmother, Nancy Elizabeth (Lizzie) Blakey (1897-1984)
This is my paternal grandmother Blakey, the first of our family to obey the Apostolic message of Acts 2. God healed her of typhoid fever in 1926, at age 28. The mother of 3 young children, a devout Methodist at the time, she humbly asked God if he would see fit to let her raise her 3 children. God answered that prayer and allowed Lizzie Blakey to see Falla's first grandson, the beginning of her 5th generation. God called her home in 1984, just 20 days before her 87th birthday. After God raised her up from death, she trusted Him all the days of her life. He never let her down, nor her family.
Five Generations: Lizzie Blakey, Her son, Robert L.Blakey, His daughter, Nancy (Falla39), Her daughter, Glenna, holding her son, Philip Andrew Brua, two weeks old. This picture was taken Aug. 1983. Lizzie and Robert have passed on, but the three remaining generations continue on at the church Robert and his wife, Audrey Blakey founded Nov. 1958. Almost 50 years ago.

Bro. Jaxfam6,
What a lovely compliment! She was probably not over 5 ft. tall, but on
her knees she was "taller than trees" as the late governor of Louisiana used
to sing.
I was her was her first granddaughter, and was named after her,
following on the heels of my older brother by less than two years. What
a powerful influence she was in my life. She loved God and she loved her
family. She and her older sister was known in their small town as prayer
warriors. Her family knew this even more anyone else.
There are adults, that were children growing up when Grandma Lizzie
and Great-Aunt Lucy were alive, who have told me if it had not been
for those two sisters, there would not be a church here today. The
Apostolic Pentecostal church is the largest church in that small town
today. These two sisters prayed diligently for God to send good men
to help the pastor and the church. And that's exactly what He did.
Blessings,
Falla39

Thank you, Sis. The Mrs for these sweet words. She
led the way for those coming behind and was faithful.
I would have no excuse if I didn't do the same for those
coming behind me. I owe my own what was given to me.
Blessings,

Thank you, Bro. Scott,
They came out of the "Great Depression" and I have heard the
stories of how God brought them through. Reminds me at times
of how God brought the children of Israel out of Egypt and across
the Red Sea. He made a way where there seemed to be no way.
Doesn't He still do that!! David said he had never seen the right-
ous forsaken or his seed begging bread. The Lord knows those
that are His. The Bible tells us so.

Thanks for your heritage history Sister Falla. Very interesting! That era your grandmother came from produced some very outstanding people. They won wars, both literal and spiritual, that has made it easier on all of us today. I salute them!

Thank you, Bro. Raven,
Yes, we have a goodly heritage, don't we! I thank God for it too!
Those who came out of the Great Depression, birthed the children
who served in WWII. Tom Brokaw wrote "The Greatest Generation"
about those who served our country during WWII. Our Dad served
in the Phillipeans and in Japan, treating the wounded and helping to
carry the soldiers who were killed, off the front lines of battle. His
younger brother served in two or three battles during the wars.
Other family members, cousins, uncles, etc. also served. We four
older children were little stair steps with the oldest being seven yrs.
when Dad left.
We, the children of those who served in WWII are called, "The Silent
Generation". Listen and learn. And we did. But Paul said when he
became a man (mature adult) he put away childish things. Children
only need to be quiet until they mature and learn and then the older
can teach the younger. But someone has to mature first. It's way past
time for that "Silent Generation" to arise and speak up. I have a feeling
you understand what I am saying!
Blessings,
Falla39
