Seeking prayer for this upcoming trip, we will be leaving January 18th, 2008. Not looking for money, but should you wish to contribute I would never refuse a blessing from the Lord
Below I posted some events when I went in January 2007.
Missions Report/Diary from India
January 2007
January 10
Dr. Mark Segraves and I arrived at SF International Terminal for our flight to India. We flew on Singapore Airlines; the jet that carried us to Asia was Boeing 747-400 which was quite roomy and well equipped. I awakened periodically to see the plane’s progress on the GPS monitor that we were over the Bering Sea, then into Russian airspace and over China. The plane’s progress was over North China that seemed awfully close to the North Korean border.
January 11
Arrived in Singapore, we were picked up by Matthew Matthews, a local pastor that was an acquaintance of Mark. He was a gracious host that took us to lunch as a very beautiful hotel in the downtown area. He shared with us the state of church affairs in Singapore; he later introduced us to Paul and young man from his church that gave us a first class tour of Singapore.
We arrived in Ahemdabad at 11:30 that night. The airport was a mess, we had to get off the plane right on the tarmac and be transported to the terminal, and the mosquitoes attacked us while waiting in line. We were greeted by policemen with machine guns. The customs and baggage areas were really confusing and disorganized; I didn’t expect to even find our luggage.
He then drove us to Mahemdabad (10 miles away) which would be our home for the next 4 days. The roads and driving in India has to be one of the most frightening experiences that I have ever had. Cars coming on your side of the road, then moving back into their lane at the last moment, People on motor scooters, bicycles and walking alongside the road, mind you this is 1am in the morning.
The hotel looked interesting at night, there were a # of men waiting outside around a campfire, I asked JP about them and he said they were the night watchmen and the were waiting for us. It was hilarious as the little Indians tried to carry my heavy suitcase, it took 2 of them.
The room was sparse, with 2 single beds; a very nice A/C, God knew my needs (I like an A/C at night). The bathroom was very primitive, no hot showers and I had to flush the toilet by pouring water down the commode. My shower would consist of a bucket for warm water, but it worked and I felt clean and refreshed every day.
January 12
Showered with the buckets and then went downstairs later in the morning. I wanted to get out and explore the area.
We returned to our rooms to rest and relax until JP was to meet up with us later in the evening for dinner. We sat out in front of the hotel at watched the bizarre ways and modes of transportation that people use in India.
Pastor JP arrived with his family, a beautiful young lady, Blessing (18) lady, another daughter Glory (14) and a son Kenni (11), they are a beautiful family.
After dinner JP took us to the conference grounds to view the conference center, it was an old CMA campground with a big conference room with adjoining dorm rooms for both men and women
Returned to our room, before I went to bed I decided to pray a little, a wonderful anointing came down upon me as I prayed, I felt the confirming presence of the Lord.
January 13th-15th
We met at the conference center at 10AM for the start of the church services. It was our responsibility to speak for 9 teaching sessions over the 3 day conference. I would do 5sessions; Dr. Mark Segraves would do 4 sessions.
I started the keynote address with a message on the “Anointing”, taken from Jesus inaugural ministry address found in
Luke 4. It was very different having to pause for an interpreter. But I got used to it over time. Dr. Mark Segraves preached on our “Identity in Christ”.
Our teaching/preaching series really went well together, he talked out the position of power and authority that each believer has through our identity in Christ. I dealt with the outworking of that position by doing the “Works of Jesus”. Pastor JP commented at the end of the conference how well these message went together.
Some highlights of the teaching sessions.
I preached “Why we need Signs/Wonder and Why God gives Signs and Wonders”, after the message we had a time of impartation from the Lord. The local pastors came forward and we prayed for them. I then asked those with needs to come forward, we prayed over them and many wonderful things begin to happen.
I felt a word of knowledge for growths, tumors, and lumps. A woman came forward and received prayer and her growth begin to shrink. Another lady came forward full of joy after receiving prayer for a spike (large thorn) that had been lodged in her back for 7 years, it came out instantly.
Another brother came forward and received healing for a cataract in his eye, he was instantly better. Many other things happened that I couldn’t keep track of.
The second to the last session I preached about the “Gifts of Healing”, we had a time of impartation for those that felt led that this might be gift the Lord would like to use them in. Many came forward and after a simple teaching about how to pray for the sick I begin to watch them pray for another, it was very powerful.
One lady a new convert from Hinduism was watching, she came forward wanting to learn how to pray for the sick, and she told me through an interpreter that a she had never had a prayer answered in her life. With the boldness of the Lord on me, I told well God is going to answer her prayer right now, I told her to lay hands on a sister standing there with knee problems. God instantly healed through this precious sister. It was so remarkable to her that she even initially accused the sister of lying when she stated that the pain instantly left. It was powerful; this went on for about 40 minutes.
So many good things happened, there was a tremendous anointing on Dr. Segraves as he preached about the “Power of our New Identity” and that as a result we don’t have to live with fear, disease and bondage.
We ended the conference with a message about “What Jesus said about the Church” found in
Matthew 16.
The Lord’s power was so evident, our desire was to equip them to do what Jesus did and we felt that this was accomplished. Pastor JP later told us that this was the best conference that they have ever had. We are grateful to the Lord, He confirmed His word with signs following, our host, Pastor JP and his family were very gracious and kind, and they met every one of our needs.
January 16th
We had one day remaining before we winged our way back to America, Pastor JP wanted to give us a tour of Ahemdabad a large city of 7 million people. Where else could you go see Elephants walking down the street, sharing your lane with cows, donkeys, and camels pulling carts? The traffic and driving experiences were a combination of terror and shear wonderment more that I have couldn’t imagine possible. We found our way to a wonderful exotic bizarre where I purchased some nice things for Elizabeth to make up for the long time that I was gone. We made it safely home on January 17th; I was so impacted by this trip in many wonderful ways.
