Gotta Question About Women Voters
I was talking to a woman a while back and she had some comments that kind of threw me and I thought I would put this out there for discussion.
We were discussing the presidential election coming up and the possible considerations. She told me that she would only vote for the same one her husband voted for. That he was the leader of the family and the it was his responsibility to find out the best possible candidate and to lead them in the one to vote for. She said she had always voted the same in any election as her husband and that she felt it was God's design to have the woman follow in the leadership of the man.
I found this incredible, at first it almost made sense but then I said, huh? Does God really expect us ladies to not have a mind of our own and vote only for the candidates our husbands choose? And then I was wondering if a little of the worldly feminism spirit (which I detest) was rubbing off on me. I can't say I ever remember voting different than BOOM on a presidential election, we sort of think the same on those lines anyway, but on other elections I most likely have at times voted different. Even in church leadership elections I don't think we have always voted the same. What think ye?

Where parody meets reality. LOL
I think a woman who was that meek and/or mindless would drive me nutz if I was married to her!

My wife doesn't vote but we discuss what and who we vote for. If I am half in my marriage and my wife is the other then we deserve one vote. We lay it all on the table and pray over them. We study them and decided. We always come up with the same.

Please clarify. She doesn't vote? Because she doesn't believe in it? Or you don't believe in it?

Huh? Last time I checked, two votes were worth more than one--in any election!
You might deserve one vote, but your chosen candidate deserves two.
My husband and I have different political opinions sometimes, so we each vote for the candidate we like the best...and we don't always vote for the same candidate. Why should we have to agree on it and vote exactly alike?

Men and women sometimes have different views. That's what democracy is all about. Of course we should get to vote.

I think that it doesn't matter, unless it matters to your husband, and then you might have to reach some sort of agreement or compromise. My husband is fine with me voting as I see fit, and he doesn't feel threatened if I disagree with him. If I voted for Hillary, he'd probably question me and wonder if I'd backslid, but he still wouldn't try to make me vote the same as he does.
I suppose if your husband has a problem with it, then you have to address it. If BOOM doesn't mind, then you shouldn't worry about it. Every relationship has different areas of agreement and compromise.
I wouldn't want Jeff to buy the groceries and plan and cook our family meals. In fact, I'd probably get mad at him if he tried to "take over" my domain (the kitchen). I don't want him telling me what we're going to have for dinner, either. I plan all that out carefully, and do my best to appease everyone. That doesn't mean I'm a feminist...does it? Since I don't ask his permission to cook veal for Wednesday dinner?

Well.... I think that you're in open rebellion to your good husband and you need to start submitting to his authority. First you're voting for a different alderman, next you'll be wanting to restyle BOOMM's hair.
Stop the rebellion before it's too late! None of us could get him to grow geri curls, you'll only be frustrating yourself. Let BOOMM be BOOMM.

If all women had her silly attitude we would have never WON the right to vote...get the berka martha! My hubby and I discuss the canidates, but he would NEVER think of telling me how to vote, and I would never feel the need to have him THINK for me! We have met Sis so you probably could already guess that about me...
