The Persecution of Christians around the World

I'm curious as to how Apostolic Christians view the persecution of Christians in other countries.

Why does the persecution occur?

Does a Christian who is imprisoned, beaten, or executed fall short of the ideal Christian? Should he rather be miraculously spared from those persecutions as a testament to the awesome power of God?

Is it ever God's will for a Christian to be persecuted?

If the Christians in other countries had more faith, or a better understanding of the Bible, would their persecution stop?

Are you familiar with any stories of Christians in other countries who were persecuted for their faith? What did you think about it?

Read Voice Of The Martyrs Magazine or their web site. It could change peoples lives. Believers are persecuted for the name (person) of Jesus. He said we would be hated for his name.

A persecuted Christian is not falling short. They are standing tall. Although certainly there can be great deliverance FROM persecution at times. The Apostles REJOICED that they were counted WORTHY to suffer shame for his name.

I know many in America remain silent about their faith in Christ to avoid just being left out of conversation or activity with the people of this world. What will happen to their faith when they are persecuted for it?

All Christians should expect persecution.

29: For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; Phil. 1:29

As we speak many Christians sit in prison in Communist and Islamic nations. Their families worry over them daily. They wonder if they will ever see them again. How many Apostolics pray for those in prison or suffering persecution?

How is it that such an important topic got 11 views and falling quickly out of sight?

A former pastor said that when he would order books for the whole church to read, the books that told you how to get your prayers answered always sold faster than the books that taught you how to fast. Maybe that has something to do with it. Persecution is an unpleasant subject.
