Should Fireworks be illegal everywhere?

Here I am in So California...most cities have made fireworks of all sort illegal. However you can buy "poppers" at the grocery store. You can conceivably put someones eye out with those.

But all other fireworks like just cones and sparklers are illegal here. Some cities though you can buy "safe and sane" fireworks....they don't shoot into the air or explode like firecrackers.

Is this a good idea?

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Depends on who you ask... my son, or me. LOL

Re: Should Fireworks be illegal everywhere?

I live in the country so we can do fireworks unless we are under a burn ban, which we aren't this year. However in the city of Mineola the Fire Department does a great fireworks show after a day of activities. I don't think all should be illegal just wish there was a way to tell if idiots were buying them so you could avoid being where they are. Because I read a few years ago about someone shooting off a rocket thingy inside the house. Did not go through the roof, bounced off the ceiling and burned the carpet a little. An adult male did it, not a teenager. Guess what his name was? Yep, Bubba not to be confused with our own Baron (Bubba), who is much smarter than that.

Wink Re: Should Fireworks be illegal everywhere?

Fireworks are illegal in the city but not in our state. But you wouldn't know it... Last night as I drove home from work (10:30) there were fireworks displays all over town. Many people spend huge sums on these noisy "toys".

I'm too cheap and too cautious for such but like everything....commonsense!
It's called personal responsibility!

I love watching the professional shows and having lived in so many places I 've seen some well done displays through the years. I'll go watch the neighbors shoot 'em off too. The exploding colors are always enjoyable.

Prax,

I think they should be illegal this year and any year there
is a drought. It's so Dry here right now that one spark could
end up being a total disaster.

I think they should ALWAYS be illegal in forrest and coastal
areas! There's a lot of stupid, irresponsible people who
drink, do drugs AND let off fireworks

I think that unless there is a fire danger, we as Americans can choose whether we want to blow our fingers off or not.

I personally supported our church by purchasing $100 package at their fund-raising stand...and I am going to burn them and enjoy Independence Day!

Do you happen to live anywhere near where that idiot tried to cash the ridiculously big forged check.

That's because Colo. doesn't have forest fires.
if you had year after year of fires you might think
differently.

This was the first time EVER that i had to go into
emergency and get respitory treatment from all
the smoke and smog that was in the air. it was BAD.

Re: Should Fireworks be illegal everywhere?

Firworks are not illegal in the county or state where I live however in the city limits of Jackson,AL where I reside fireworks use is prohibited.
Fireworks are enjoyable under careful supervision.
