Re: You think Trinitarians accept you?
The "Apologetics" types are the worse. The more well studied they are the harsher they are is my experience. The rank and file believers will side with their leaders. There are always exceptions. I still have friends among them.

Re: You think Trinitarians accept you?
These groups are small and insignificant - smaller than the UPC. Who cares what they think? TD Jakes turns down thousands of invitations to preach and does not want for a place to minister. These people are not influencing many. For the most part - they teach against the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues.
I can tell you from my experience - Oneness Pentecostals & Trinitarian Pentecostals - LOVE TD JAKES and that my friend is a FACT!

I know Trinitarians accept me.

Patrick,
By the same token, I could say the same thing about many that believe in the trinity. After over fifty years of seeing the animosity toward those who believe that "all the fulness of the Godhead is in Jesus" and those who baptize inJesus Name.
I have had many friends, neighbors and acquaintances who would call me for prayer. They wanted me to pray and some even wanted to tell me WHAT to pray. But when it came to obedience to the Word of God pertaining to salvation, they wanted no part of it. They would pray for healing, and other things they desired, but when it came to baptism in the name of Jesus, they wanted no part of it. There is much more I could say but won't.

Re: You think Trinitarians accept you?
JamDat,
I don't know anyone who has said there are not trinitarians who are just as passionate about trinitarian doctrine as Oneness people are about theirs.
However the fact of the matter is that over the last 20 years there is less of that than before as people are more open to different views. That does not mean trinitarian theologians are not going to defend and preserve their view though. It is the "boots on the ground" (saints) where I see a lot more openness to alternate views than a trinitarian was raised with. Much like in Oneness circles where not as many younger people demonize trinitarians as being "three god" people as most of the older generation does / did.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: You think Trinitarians accept you?
This subject is very interesting to me also.
For years OPs preached that charismatic churches were of the devil and on their way to hell.
Trinitarians thought OPs were heretics.
What has caused people to change their minds?

Re: You think Trinitarians accept you?
I have preached in both "Trinitarian" & "Oneness" Churches for 39 years and have never been in any kind of argument about the Godhead in either movement. I have baptized more people in the Name of Jesus Christ in "Trinity" Churches - including Pastors & their families, than I have in "Oneness" Churches. The argument is old and this younger generation wants to fellowship around what they can agree on and not about what their preacher or mom & dad argued about.
I for one am tired of it too. Why don't we just demonstrate what the Apostles did and stop all this condemning of people that do not do it OUR way? I have yet to find two "Apostolic" Pastors that believe exactly alike or say the exact same thing when they baptize and then some want to send everyone else to hell because they do not do it like they do it. It is senseless.
When I get a call to come minister - The thought never enters my mind - Are you Oneness or Trinitarian! I just go to minister - I don't care who it is! The more I travel internationally the less all the BOXES people are in matters anyway! I have preached in Buddhist Temples, Hindu Shrines, Rastafarian Gatherings, Unification Church Conferences, Cult leaders mansions, tiny store fronts, 60,000 seat African Mega Churches and many other places and I really do not care what the name is or what their doctrine is - I go and preach The Revelation of the One True & Living God and preach JESUS CHRIST TO THEM and then pray for the sick & afflicted and see God work Miracles. Why is what THEIR doctrine or believe system so important to you guys?
Our concern should not be what THEY believe - it should be the REVELATION & WORD GOD gives US!

Re: You think Trinitarians accept you?
In my experience there are some that do and some that do not

- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
