They do exist! I always hear about polls, but never knew anyone who particpated...until today.

They asked a ton of questions. First asking if I thought the direction of this country was headed in the right direction...nope.
How did I rate the performace of Pres. Obama?
The worst rating possible.

And why did they ask the following question in this manner?

If the election were held today and Pres. Obama faced Newt Gingrich, which one would you vote for? That was the choice???
Well, I would have said Fred Flintsone if the only choice was between a cartoon character and BO.

No, oddly...just Gingrich. Seems that would/could skew the poll in BO's favor? Gingrich's ratings are at the bottom with republicans and they're lower with democrats.

They are probably just wanting to gauge how much support Gingrich really has out there. Like you said, you would have voted Fred Flintstone. If people were that fed up with Obama, they would say Gingrich. That's what they are wanting to know.

The pollsters are doing head to head matchups. I suspect Rassumsin had any number of such calls going on where they asked about 8 or 10 republicans against Bammer.

also Rassmussen gets hired to run specific polls for individuals. he may have been running a poll for Newt or for the RNC or some other interested party.... maybe even Bammer.

Now if the election were between Fred Flintstone and Scooby Doo i would have to go with Scooby because he and his friends at Mystery Inc. were always busting the greedy crooks that were scaring the people and stealing the money.
