Light Doctrine Finds Resurgence
The recent videos posted concerning a so-called "Light Doctrine" is more evidence that even three steppers are open to non Oneness Pentecostals being spared rather than "Lost".
Putting aside the question of how much credibility Lee Stoneking has, or even whether a "Light Doctrine" is biblical, I think this shows us something. A rigid three step position simply cannot be maintained in the UPC.
When leaders start cracking down on those perceived "weak on the doctrine" the resurgence of the Light Doctrine is seen. I have had many conversations with licensed ministers and laypersons alike that embrace a form of the light doctrine... These for the most part would be viewed as "Three Steppers" in their doctrine of salvation, and further most would not dare teach it publicly for fear of being labeled "weak".
The irony is amazing I think, the tougher one is on the three step requirement, the more likely they make other back door exceptions.

I've always said, "All 'Three Steppers' are actually 'One Steppers' at heart." Just ask any of them privately, one on one.
The whole " Acts 2:38 Or HELL!" routine is a social phenomena. It's a behavior of the herd, not the animals within the herd.

You know Hoovie-
I believed this doctrine long ago, when I attended an AA church. Me and my friends would discuss how God gives you light and if you walk in that light, regardless of what measure it is, you will be saved if you are obey the light that God show you.
I never knew then that it was an actual teaching and had a name, back then.
But some how when we say saved at repentance we get all up in arms!

Yep ... group think ... at its best ...
The issue is when they are together or posting or writing or preaching they feel as if they have to peacock ...
Just finished reading an AD Urshan piece written in the PAJC's Pentecostal Outlook ... and his language concerning two distinct identities and and "Father God" would send chills among a public org gathering ... but I'm not too sure some are as Oneness as they profess ... either.
Will post the article in a bit.

Right, it's almost like there is a formal creed and a much more lax practical one!
