General Conference
Isn't General Conference next week ? I have not seen anything on this forum about it. I have missed Mr. Pianoman's countdown thread! I have not heard any talk about the conference among my church friends. Anyone going? Do we have anyone that will be an on the ground reporter? Any issues being voted on? What offices will be up for election? Will we have a thread that watches the services?

There was a thread on it recently. You could count on one hand
the members who are going this year. The attendance is expected
to be low.

Seems a bunch gone to that .

I think one of the praise teams are doing the music?
I saw Joy's name on one of the list.


I heard that this is the last year that General conference will
be held on either coast. from now on it will stay in the center of
the USA.

The interest in GC really seems to be down this year. It could be the location, NC is not a very happening place!

It's not a voting year. There are no controversies to vote on.
and of course,location location location

Here's another consideration. Years ago, GC use to appeal to
the entire body. now we have a lot of regional confereneces for
the average lay person to travel to that is more cost effective if
he/she wants to attend a conference.

If its determined whether to go based on the city being "happening" or not , they should just stop holding it altogether.

Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
