Spiritual adultery
There's a group of Apostolics close by us that teach a doctrine called "spiritual adultery".
Basically, it consists of this:
If a person receives the baptism of the Holy Ghost under a specific ministry, then that's where they're supposed to stay. If they leave and go sit under another ministry, then they've committed spiritual adultery. The reason for their living doesn't really matter -- it's considered spiritual adultery regardless.
Have any of you ever heard of anything like this before?

I believe in living a holiness lifestyle, inwardly and outwardly, without which no man shall see the Lord.

Let every wife be subject to her OWN HUSBAND.
Who the HECK thought it was ok for approval for ANY kind of overstepping in that regard?
Spiritual adultery?
Really?
So its basically Spiritual Polyamory life huh?
Watch it be used as a justification for real adultery...might as well after having such a close relationship that any outside of it is considered a word used for sexually unfaithful behavior in a marriage.

What scripture do they use and how do they interpret the scripture to get their doctrine?

To my understanding, they do not use scripture. I've never heard a scripture used when I've heard this mindset discussed. Of course, I could be wrong. I'm still at least semi-acquainted with a young preacher in this church, so I might can get some information from him.
As I've heard it before, it is usually mentioned as a principle or way of church etiquette. Being in the South, these Apostolics present it as being in bad manner to leave a ministry where you received the Holy Ghost. They relay it is out of order to the ministry where said individual was filled, but yet it is basically a control thing and gives the body means to outcast those that leave their assembly for another.

Re: Spiritual adultery
Ask your friend for book, chapter, and verse.
If there isn't any, then it's an opinion.

I say this from personal experience.
Pastors, Elders, Bishops however you say it, from the circles of fellowship I am from this is practiced to the "T". An individual (saint) is not allowed to hear from God unless it first comes from the leadership, or the word that God gives the individual must be in line with the word and structure of the leadership.
This gives the leadership ungodly rule over the congregation, they put themselves on a pedestal that they shouldn't be on.
Matthew 20:25-27
25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
To leave the place you received the Holy Ghost doesn't put you in the sin of adultery. You never had that type of relationship with the ministry, at least I hope you sure didn't. Ministers get into this type of control because they treat the church like a business, and it may be a tithe payer that is leaving.

Some will use,
I Timothy 1:2
Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord
They'll use Paul calling Timothy his son in the faith. Because they received the Holy Ghost in the church they Pastor, that puts that individual in like a committed relationship with the church. For the individual to leave is like cheating on your commitment, hence the accusation of adultery.

Re: Spiritual adultery
I have a name for that: money
They have a feeling in their heart, and it is carnal, but they try to spiritualize it to make it sound holy so they then can communicate it to the church

You could be wrong? Bro. Flame, how much time did you spend with these brothers to find out what they believe? I’ve understood the whole “grow where the Lord planted teaching” as being part and parcel of a lot of Christian denominations. I’ve also heard the “spiritual adultery” teaching which is used by Pentecostals, Charismatics, and even Independent Baptists. Yet, instead of who receives the Holy Ghost where, and when. It’s about where you were water baptized. I’ve dealt with individuals who wanted to rebaptize an individual if they were baptized in Jesus name. Or if they were baptized in Jesus name in a UPC congregation. Or in a Brand X Apostolic Church. But, all we can do is guess at what you have presented us. For the simple reason we don’t know these brothers and what they actually teach. You yourself don’t represent them fairly since you haven’t the foggiest idea what they actually teach.
How about you just coming out to these brothers and ask them to teach you what they believe?
Then come back and tell us
