This three-dimensional Victorian house sign for the
United Pentecostal Church of Van Buren, Arkansas, was originally a sign that stood in front of a hardware / lumber store in Van Buren. I'm not sure, but I think it was made by an employee or employess to show off all the different construction items available in the store. It certainly shows off the builder's skill!
When the owner of the business acquired a franchise from Ace Hardware, this sign was taken down, and a large, bright, new, flashy Ace Hardware sign was put up in its place. Somehow, this fabulous Victorian house ended up at the
Van Buren United Pentecostal Church.
At night when it is lit up from the inside of the sign, the stained glass windows glow. There is an electrical clock on the sign, which used to work, but it no longer does, and some of the numbers on the clock have fallen off.
Sadly, this beautiful sign has suffered from vandelism, and some of the stained glass windows have been broken out.
