Re: Prominent Memphis Area Pastor Resigns
Seems pretty obvious since there were kings who didn't rule with an iron fist.

I guess instead of seeking answers about this situation, I will just continue to seek God's Word and His truth. It just bothers me not to have any clue as to what is going on.

I attend TPC also, and you were not the only one told that the son-in-laws received positions and resigned. There are some rumors that this was true. I know that they didn't for a fact because I have spoken with them.

What do you mean by "received positions"?

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

There were people on here stating that they had jobs elsewhere and that is not the case.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I can say from exerience; when these church big shot board/trustees persons gain power/position of/in the church-they can be very RUTHLESS to have/keep charge; even are willing to disrupt order-this is another reason why Pastors must not live in willful sin/error; those board members will have a hayday with yuh.

2Sa 7:14 I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men,
2Sa 7:15 but my steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you.

BTW the King can't be compared to the Pastor either because God DID remove Saul.

I've always been intrigued with the boldness of King David to go in and do things that were forbidden; only allowed of the priest. I would assume that God gave him grace, but not when the gentleman attempted to steady the fall of the Ark of Covneant; smote him dead; David was displeased with God, but then; who's the Boss-God or David???

TB brought in Dr. James Hughes and James Kilgore originally to counsel him and help him to be restored if possible. Once additional facts were made known, this became impossible. Kilgore facilitated asking for his resignation, along with every staff member that serves at the will of the Pastor. Several were hired back, such as music minister, children pastor, janitor, church secretary, and Pastor's secretary. It was decided by Kilgore and later agreed by the board, that family members (both SIL's & son) were best not to be rehired, but were to be given a unknown severance amount.
I seriously doubt a new Pastor could be hired with the following in place on the payroll:
Associate Pastor: Former Pastor's Son -in- Law
Youth Pastor: Former Pastor's Son -in- Law
Database Administrator & Receptionist: Former Pastor's Daughter
who knows what he did: Former Pastor's Son
