Did he believe in wearing bowties only, and not neckties? Did he preach this as a standard for the men in his church?

This is what they said:

No..it was just his trademark. He said he did to be different, to make people remember him or something like that.

Most men in his church just wore a regular tie. There were a few of us that would occasionally wear one.

HEY WATCH IT! I married a Yankee!!!!!!!! I walked out on the platform of the Pillar Of Truth Church in Dayton, OH in January of 1978 and this beautiful blond haired gal sat at the Hammond Organ. There were over 2000 people in that building - but this Evangelist could only see one person. I asked the pastor - Who is that playing that Hammond Organ? and he said - Sister Marie. I went out with her that night and married her two years later. She has been my constant companion for 27 years and I love her more today than ever before.
She didn't even know what GRITS were when we got married!!!!!!!!!!!! She was born in Dayton, OH and lived most of her life there - but did live a few years in Los Angeles, CA. She does NOT have a Southern Drawl - I make up for both of us on that one!
