Re: “Just call me pastor, son”.

Recently our Pastor retired and is called Bishop.

His son is now our Pastor.

The Elder was employed by the post office, the younger remains employed as a Deputy Sheriff.

Both are incredible anointed ministers of outstanding character. Love them both.

Seems Bishop is honorific.

Re: “Just call me pastor, son”.

Children typically inherit their parents business if they keep the same profession.

Re: “Just call me pastor, son”.

A bishop is an elder. Not a pastor for pastors as is the role given to bishops in liturgical churches, and I guess now the UPCI.

It's possible I misinterpreted things. I was basing it on random things I heard from the pulpit. I'll have to check with my pastor to confirm, but I could swear I've heard him say that was appointed as bishop in Nebraska. I will find out for certain, though.

No. There are no bishops in the UPCI. They are Presbyters.

That’s how I understand it. One presbyter per district? Also a district superintendent.

I probably misheard then. My mistake.

Of course we don’t have to worry about that in the Apostolic Church.
