Tongues was a sign given to men that were filled with His Spirit... They spoke in a unknown tongue or langauge...

It wasn't preached on the Day of Pentecost.. it was experianced.....and didn't have to be... Peter gave them the Gospel message... repent and be baptized and they would recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost...

Let me ask this...

If speaking in tongues wasn't important what does that mean to the individual in the upper room?

If a person had no knowledge they were wonderously filled with the Holy Ghost by a SUPERNATURAL WORK of the Spirit with a heavenly sign of speaking in tongues what difference would it have made to the individual?

I feel warm and fuzzy when I embrace my kids.... that's not supernatural..

I feel my wife and I are commited to one another for life... I gave my heart to her in love and feel that I am with her thru everything... Tha's not supernatural...

What gift did God give men to prove to them that His Spirit resides in Them?
