Re: Terrorist Attacks In Paris
Whenever someone says "a Muslim", it becomes a generalized statement regarding ALL Muslims.
So, if someone writes that you can't convert "a Muslim", it becomes a generalization that ALL Muslims are un-convertible. "A Muslim" becomes a stand-in statement for the whole.
Is that too hard to recognize? Does the bias run that deeply?

So when someone says a "man" or "woman" it's all men or women?

Re: Terrorist Attacks In Paris
There are different uses of the indefinite article. Observe:
- You can't convert a Muslim to Christianity (the single Muslim stands in for ALL Muslims)
- A Muslim converted to Christianity (a specific Muslim not indicative of any other Muslim but the one who converted).
How is this so hard to understand?

So YOU claim. I could also use the first as singular. How is THAT so hard to understand?
One could say "you cannot convert a muslim," and mean it as either singular or plural.
Why am I arguing about this? The point is, whether one or a multitude, it's a rare blizzard in Hell before a muslim (one or a million) convert(s).

We all likely have lived, worked or been acquainted with a muslim.

What does that mean to you?

The blood that Jesus shed for me
Way back on Calvary
Oh the blood that gives me strength
From day to day
It will never lose its power
Unless we are talking about a Muslim or Muslim[s]
Oh ye of little faith.

I guess. I just don't believe muslims want anything to do with either Christianity or Democracy.
I've believed and posted for a while that Bush and other Republicans are wasting time, money and soldier's lives trying to export Democracy to the middle east. Muslims will never accept American Democracy. Never.

What about Turkey? They are a secular parliamentary representative democratic republic. They're Muslim. If Muslims didn't want democracy we wouldn't have between five to 12 million Muslims living in the United States.
Oh ye of little faith.
