Thought it was an interesting sugar cookie recipe as it uses Cake Flour in the place of all-purpose flour. Notice the TWO, count it, TWO cups of Crisco.

Men will eat it and you won't have to rub their feet. Win, Win!

I'm not rubbing my husband's feet. He can pull out my footbath and soak his feet in Epsom Salt and peppermint oil. Of course, he wouldn't do that as it would make him appear to be feminine.

Yes, the cookies look great for a party where no one really cares what they are eating. It's all about presentation. I will eat Velveeta cheese dip at a party. Taste really good with celery.

You mean you are not going to try this? I am seriously considering this. NG commented on how special it was at New Years when he and his wife did it. I think it could be a very special thing to do.

Ya... parties are tough. A nibble here, and a nibble there, and before long, you have no idea how much you've consumed. Celery eh.... do you bring your own? lol.... I've never seen celery offered with Velveeta cheese dip, it just seems insulting to the cheese, to not eat it with a chip!

Re: Valentine el Cheapo?

My early Valentines Day gift from my sweet loving husband! I feel very blessed, not because of the gift but because I have a man who God brought into my life over 33 years ago....also that I can say we truly have a blessed marriage! Hope everyone has a blessed Valentines Day!

No, I am seriously not that humble.

LOL! Most parties I have attended have a vegetable tray. I always have a vegetable tray if I host. And if I am invited to a particular party or attending a function at church, I will ask if I could bring a vegetable tray. Most people don't like fooling with them and welcome someone taking care of that.

When I was in sales and we had to attend functions, i.e., open houses, etc., I learned that many people who have a career will drink smoothies for breakfast and lunch in order not to insult the host at dinner and to, especially, watch their weight. I think it's a great idea and have tried to adopt that for any day I know I will be at a party.

There is much less guilt involved in dipping celery in cheese dip than a Dorito.

Methinks you are being a bit over-sensitive. And I notice you keep reading. Christians are supposed to support wholesome Christian relations.
