Re: The 2012 Democratic National Convention

If you want to read a great article about the DNC go to The Wall Street Journal web site and read Peggy Noonan's article, "The Democrats' Soft Extremism." Don't know that much about her but she sure made sense!

Peggy Noonan used to be a speech writer for Ronald Reagan.

She's good! Enjoyed reading her synopsis of the DNC.

Probably the most important and alarming part of Noonan's article was missed and it was this:

"So: was it a good convention? We'll know by the polls, by the famous bounce, or lack of it. A guess? Dead-cat bounce. Just like the Republicans got."

America is tired of BOTH parties.

Re: The 2012 Democratic National Convention

Four years ago Obama's theme was "Yes We Can!" .... " Yes We Can!" .... "Yes We Can!"

Last night it should have been "No We Didn't!" .... "No We Didn't!" .... "No We Didn't!"!!!!!!!

I doubt the fluctuating speculation at InTrade has anything to do with Gallup. Gallup will align itself toward the end to reflect the truth, as most polls do.

Re: The 2012 Democratic National Convention

Regarding Bill Clinton's speech when he started wagging that boney finger at the camera all I could think of was the last time he did that was when he was lying about sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky. Will people ever learn not to listen to liars?

Then with the Biden speech I had mixed emotions. I knew the Dems had to be happy he was sticking with the teleprompter so sounded lucid and sane for the first time in a long time. However when he said with a straight face that Romeny was "betting against Americans or America" (I forget which) I found that very educational as I have followed the Romney-Ryan campaign closely and I didn't know that they were betting against America. See you can learn something from even Joe Biden! (How Dems say the most absurd things with a straight face is beyond me).

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
