I did not advocate jail. I simply said it was wrong and gave some examples of where that kind of behavior can lead if left unchecked. Do not think that I do not realize that any of these young marines could have been one of my sons or that I do not have MERCY. But mercy does not require trying to say that something wrong is right or even OK.

Would the "Good Samaritan" have urinated on the man who he found up and robbed beside the road?

Titus2woman,

I appreciate the service of your father. Mine was career army, my sibs are all either military retired or nearly there. I am retired military.

I have two complaints about the tenor of these posts. One is the so-called moral equivalency of the barbarianism of the Taliban and Jihadists compared to the good guys (that's US, by the way).
The other is the total lack of understanding of the decompression that happens post-combat.

It was a stupid act, but they shouldn't be "outed" by a youtube without context and then crucified by the liberal media without realizing that "war is hell" and these are young men. Young men. I remember when I was 18, but that was a long time ago. They should not have to suffer the rest of their lives because of a wartime moment.

I actually have more understanding for their actions (post combat) than anything at Abu Ghraib.

Lot less blood and guts that way... You may have something there.

We have so much weaponry now you would think that they could just do virtual war based on what's in stock and maybe give 'crazy points' for the suicidal types... and stop killing our kids, most of whom are just trying to pay for college...

And to answer a question from someone else... No I do not know what it is to march in full gear... but I do know what it is to stay up night after long night praying and weeping before the Lord for my child who is in combat... and anyone who is a parent knows I'd have taken that gear in a minute if I could have.
