Do you disagree with those who don't want their children and families at the same meetings as those who hold to less conservative standards? I don't, and I'm not nearly as conservative as some.

I've seen what's happened to La. youth and adult camp meetings. I couldn't believe what was on the platform one night during camp meeting last year!

If it happens again, I just may have to find one of them "separate" camp meetings next year.

This has nothing to do with the alternative meetings many enjoy outside of District Activities. This is a discussion against full division of the Western District, and using the Youth as pawns in a larger game.

By monopoly of power I was referring to the size of the General Board of this proposed new district. The application says it would only be a 4 man general board (if you don't count the superintendent and the secretary). Imagine if these 4 men shared the same opinions. They could pass anything they wanted to pass.
There is strength and balance in the size of our general board.

Also you underestimate our youth. Many of us can see through the "niceties" of this new proposal... On our OWN. I guess we must be stupid though... or is that just because our opinion doesn't match up with yours?

okay... I will not post anything more from Bud after this.. just thought I'd share how a young person (20ish) feels about the situation...

I'm independent so we have our own campmeeting with some other churches that hold to the same standards as what we do. My pastor doesn't recomend that we attend the upc campmeeting here.

Why?
