Of course, what it all comes down to is the intentions and conditions of the individual's heart. That is what we will all be called to account for in the end.
God was pretty harsh towards idolatry. I grew up catholic so it's notm against people but the religion itself.

YES President Obama stands criticism for this FAILURE of EPIC proportions! It happened on his watch. Furthermore, this isn't the first time that Americans have been captured by these pirates.

OUR PRESIDENT NEEDS TO LEAD!

This IS a Chrsitian response.

I am a Christian and this is my response.

We pray for the souls of the dead.
We pray and attempt to comfort the hearts of their living loved ones and in honor of the senseless MURDERS of our AMERICAN citizens, we go!

We go to those waters were our brothers and sisters were killed and we clean house.

Plainly speaking, we go there and we kill the pirates that fight us in our efforts to bring lawfulness and peace to that region.

Christianity does allow for killing of other people.
This is one of those occasions where a military response is not just necessary, but indeed it has been INVITED by the actions of the pirates that had the GUMPTION to KILL our citizens while our MILITARY was attempting to NEGOTIATE PEACEFULLY!

The Somali pirates in that region have asked for it.

We need to bring it and do so speedily!
From the Halls of Montezuma,
To the shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country's battles
In the air, on land, and sea;.....

I don't "want" to use the UN - but we do give them billions of dollars a year - much of it for "peacekeeping." How about we get our money's worth? NATO would be a more reliable source. The most reliable? Well, doing the job ourselves. Maybe we could bill the UN for our peacekeeping?

I agree.

Romans 13:1-7; Ecclesiastes 3:3
.
Of course, there are some great discussions worth having on those listed scriptures above.

It's ok to call wrong wrong.
It certainly is. And there are some false teachings IMO, but to the point of idolatrous? Not sure I can say so... and FTR, there's been many people who were supposedly Catholic, that doesn't mean they were well-trained in catechism, etc and had a good understanding of the faith.

What makes you better? Nothing worse than the idolatry of arrogance.
