Maybe it's a good idea after all.
No, just a ban on playing in a church league with guys from your church!

I saw a man who was a preachers kid and the host of the tournament throw a cussing fit at an umpire one time. Our team left the tournament over it.

He is now a presbyter. HAHA!!

Seriously, we have real issues with our spirits sometimes. I have never seen my sons junior high basketball team get out of line or argue a call one time. the coach teaches sportsmanship.

Pianoman,

I just bought some new Mizuno MP60s... even my shanks feel like butter!

I have actually noticed little difference in the cut muscles and the TA blades I have played for the last several years. I guess there is only so much that technology can do with limited ability!

I used to throw my catcher's glove into a bucket of water for a few minutes then do the exact same thing above.
A man after my own heart and ability! I caught from the time I started playing baseball until my dad made me quit "organized sports". Then I caught as a warm up and bull pen catcher for my school teams. It was OK as long as I didn't play in games and was not an official member of the team.

The DS of South Dakota's cousin, Greg Legg, was quite a pitcher in high school and I used to love catching his heat! His breaking stuff was a little wild and catching him without a mask or protector was hazardous! He ended up going to AAA but as an infielder instead of a pitcher. Never made it to the bigs permanently and last I heard he was coaching in minor league ball.

The DS of South Dakota was quite a ball player too. He played for the Duncan Demons before he got the Holy Ghost his junior or senior year. He was a spark plug.... red hair and freckles and all the attitude to go with it!

My son-in-law was a star pitcher for Middle Tennessee State University. Just before the MLB draft, he tore up his arm sliding into 3rd base trying to stretch a double into a triple! His career in baseball was over!!

I took him golfing a couple of weeks ago and he's a natural athlete. He was driving the ball 300+ yards right down the middle. In only his third time to golf ever, he scored an 89!

I love those catcher/runner collisions! No pads to protect the bone crunches. Awesome!

Back in Little League our team was not quite as prosperous as some and instead of a lightweight mask, I wore one of the old super heavy Umpire masks that had a really thick and sharp center guard. I had a bad habit of ripping off my mask when there was going to be a play at the plate but not discarding it. I can't tell you the number of wounds I inflicted with that mask as I clutched the ball in my mitt and used the other hand, complete with wicked mask, to secure the ball. I have knocked a few out cold and caused many a blood bath on the third base line. it was a terrible weapon!

Catching was never quite as fun after they forced me to get one of the less threatening masks.
