I used to throw my catcher's glove into a bucket of water for a few minutes then do the exact same thing above.

A man after my own heart and ability! I caught from the time I started playing baseball until my dad made me quit "organized sports". Then I caught as a warm up and bull pen catcher for my school teams. It was OK as long as I didn't play in games and was not an official member of the team.
The DS of South Dakota's cousin, Greg Legg, was quite a pitcher in high school and I used to love catching his heat! His breaking stuff was a little wild and catching him without a mask or protector was hazardous! He ended up going to AAA but as an infielder instead of a pitcher. Never made it to the bigs permanently and last I heard he was coaching in minor league ball.
The DS of South Dakota was quite a ball player too. He played for the Duncan Demons before he got the Holy Ghost his junior or senior year. He was a spark plug.... red hair and freckles and all the attitude to go with it!
