I misunderstood Thinker's statements to refer to a "shut out" at NW's place on the Left Coast. AW in Michigan did the right thing in dropping his ties with Boora.

I am sort of intrigued in just how Boora's professed attachments to NW's Apostolic School of Theology might play out. The NW factions and the WPF are so eager for any sort of affirmation that they've done the "right thing" all along that they at least appear to be easy marks for a good con man - maybe even a mediocre con man.

It would be a real shame to see "Oneness" studies set even further back by more fraud. Marvin Arnold, Thomas Weisser and Bill Chalfant's books are still floating around and deceiving many. Chalfant seems to have repented of his "extrapolation of history" methodology and reverted to writing out-and-out fiction now (The Love Life of Sabelius, or whatever).

The Oneness movement as a whole needs to step up to the plate and deal with this subject honestly if we are ever to be taken seriously.

But "the oneness movement" is so splintered and fragmented and has so many doctrinal differences among the teachers/preachers/members I don't know how this could happen. Possibly a position paper by the UPC hierarchy coordinated with other OP organizations repudiating Arnold (and others) and going back to the letter and spirit of the affirmation statement of 1945 would be a start.

I have it on good authority that Boora did want to teach there but was turned down.

I don't get it ... his book is being used as a text book for university level study by students there ...

And HE HAS EXPERIENCE ....

And his curriculum vitae includes teaching as a professor for the notorious diploma mill St. Regis University alongside his friend Dr. Carey ....

Dr. C Bradley Carey makes the list of professors ... on this 2003 forum post ...and Dr. Boora's work part of the SRU library
(http://forums.degreeinfo.com/accredi...y-changes.html)

Boora would join the faculty ...

The actual archived pages of the St. Regis University Diploma Mill site ... dated Feb. 5th 2004.

Notice Boora and Bradley are listed as professors/mentors.

Source: http://web.archive.org/web/200402051...ac/faculty.htm

--------------------------------------------------

Then of course he was part of the board for the INSTITUTE FOR CHRISTIAN WORKS BIBLE COLLEGE AND SEMINARY

Both Boora and Wilson were/are listed as adjunct professors at this bible school.

It is run and founded by a Dr. P. Bradley Carey. A bishop of his own fellowship and still apparently has an open charge for alleged child molestation open in the State of Washington.

Wilson claimed a Phd from this school, Stoneking still does ... although no such degree exists ... even as an honorary degree as Wilson on this thread claimed it was ...

The school uses another designation for their "doctorate" degree since the state law of S. Carolina does not allow it to use "secular nomenclature".

Re: Very Interesting From The Apostolic News

It appears the link no longer works for this article. It seems to have disappeared as quickly as Boora's SEU diploma.

In my opinion, Sam, the diversity of opinion is actually a plus. If we were to acknowledge this diversity and embrace it then a freer and more open dialog would follow.

On the matter of "stepping up to the plate" - this doesn't really even touch on specific "Oneness" views. It's just an appeal for the Oneness community at-large to follow the leadership of men like DKB and TF when it comes to academic credentials. DKB worked hard to get the Urshan Grad School accredited with a legitimate authority. He should be praised for this accomplishment - AND! - I say "praised" despite my many and well known differences of opinion with DKB himself.

I was at a Oneness Symposium (1992?) where Bill Chalfant was called upon to defend his methodology. He used the term "extrapolation" there and this is the source for my own use of the term in describing his work. It's a label he applied to himself.

Bro. Chalfant was taken to task with some vigor by the crowd in a Q&A. To my knowledge, he has not published anything along the lines of his "Ancient Champions..." thesis since.

From my own observations there does seem to be a real desire among Oneness people for authentic research and a legitimate search for truth on these topics. Also, most people are not persuaded by the "degree mill" nonsense under discussion here. But, we do need to hold our leaders accountable and demand that they NOT take short cuts when it comes to academics. This sort of stuff reflects poorly on all of us.

Personally, I am "Oneness" and I practice "Acts 2:38" in my own ecclesiology, but I recognize that this view has not been in practice continuously for the past 2,000 years.

Got to visit William Chalfant's new site ... http://www.williambchalfant.com/

His historical fiction novel on the Nephalim coming to earth during the building of Noah's Ark and trying to burn it down and the women in the family falling in love with the "fallen angel" is eerie ....

Quote:
A historical fantasy novel of adventure about Noah and the ark. Noah must do more than build an ark. Noah is born under strange circumstances. His lovely teenager mother, Bathenosh, met a tall, dark stranger about the time of Noah's conception. The tall, dark stranger is Samhazi, a fallen angel, who cloned himself a human body. Noah's father Lamech believes that Bathenosh was unfaithful to him and that Noah is not his son because of some seemingly "supernatural" occurrences at the boy's birth and because a servant lied to him about Bathenosh's meeting with Samhazi.

When Noah is grown, Samhazi returns and abducts Noah's young mother, who is entranced by the tall, dark stranger. Samhazi is a part of 200 fallen angels from the constellation Orion, who have assumed human bodies, and who desire to rule over mankind. It looks like they will succeed. Only the daring boldness of the young Noah stands in their way. He and the patriarchs are inspired by the beautiful "memories of the Garden of Eden". They are determined that these memories will not perish from mankind.

The fallen angels in their human condition desire to control the earth and to have women as companions. Noah resists their demonic activities by forcefully taking his mother away from Samhazi. Noah's pretty wife Naamah, a descendant of Cain, stands by Noahs side, but even she is temporarily falls under the spell of the enigmatic Samhazi. Finally, the fallen angels determine to burn down the ark, which Noah and his sons have spent years building. The future of antediluvian mankind hangs in the balance as Noah, with angelic help, defends the great ark from destruction.
