Jesus told them, “Go back to John and tell him what you have heard and seen— the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor. And tell him, ‘God blesses those who do not turn away because of me.’”

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

If we focus our attention on the good that God wants us to do and the glory we bring him, guess what, we won't have time to do the wrong that is out there and it will get cancelled out by our walk in the Spirit...the flesh will lose the battle against the spirit over and over as we focus on the things of the spirit....whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is trustworthy....set your mind and thinking on such things.

This the saint can, and should, do. The sinner can't.

My focus with sinners is to shine like a lamp on a stand so that they marvel at God because of what they see in me....the Jesus they will see is the Jesus they see in me...that is what will attract them...that is, it will attract those who are thirsty for something better, when they recognize that their approach on living life on their own has failed miserably...many love to choose their perdition, that is what they want...in the meantime, let's shine for those that are thirsty for something better and do not want what life is offering them.

Jesus was brief...he said to the disciples "Follow me"....and they dropped everything and ran to him...

...can we reach a point in our life where we are living examples so that when we say "follow me" people will drop everything and say, "Hey, I want what he's got...there is something special going on over there"

Sorry, Brother it is far, far in the opposite direction.

Right you are. As I said I was apt to be incorrect.

I still do not see how one can avoid understanding that one must preach conviction and judgment to the sinner in order to bring about true repentance.

Come on, that will preach!!

It is so surprising to folks when they realize burning in a pit of fire is NOT the focus of Jesus' ministry.

Paul the apostle to the Gentiles seems to have forgotten to convey in clear words this great threat.
