As far as DKB feeling a passionate call to Hindus and Muslims in South Africa? I guess there's a small chance that's true...

Since this is distance learning I doubt a passion for muslims in south Africa was an issue

I was responding to Hoovie. It was quite relevant to what he suggested.

I don't see the mystery. Or the controversy. He is required to study in the masters or doctors field he choose.
It seems to me that this is a way for someone to get his degree by passing proficiency exams, showing he knows what he is talking about, in that field, without having to take courses at that university.
That does not mean DKB did not take any courses to gain the needed knowledge

I know you were. I doubt, as I was saying, his choice in schools has to do with a passion for muslims in south Africa since it is distance learning

Re: Get your Degree Today
I won't even try to quote him in a thread under this type of scrutiny, but I actually recall DKB addressing this (his enrollment at UNISA) at UGST, either at a symposium or when I audited some classes there a few years back.
I cannot recall if it was in regards to a question about the upcoming UGST accreditation or otherwise. I do recall him being open and discussing his decision to enroll.

Festus United Liberty South West University.
Hold on, let me look that up.
That's the "mystery," "controversy" and the fact that there's always something "to it" that I'm referring to. Those three adjectives aren't all-encompassing for this situation, but the situation with degrees and UPC theologians in general. And yes, there's certainly "something to it." South African University via Austin, TX??
Most reputable higher learning institutions aren't just about people who show up and prove how much they know. It's people who show up, learn a heck of a lot, toil through the process, and then articulate in a way that shows their learning, etc.
BTW, anyone know what his thesis was on? That would be neat to see.

C'mon Prax...Really? No Mystery to why a guy who could choose any school he wanted in the US would go to South Africa?
His theological education is seriously deficient compared to someone like Dan Segraves.
There is nothing in the PhD program that says he needed to do anything but prepare a Thesis.
