What think ye?

I don't think that "romantic" language is necessarily feminine in nature.

Where do you think our sweet mamas get the mothering nature, Ferd? The devil?
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
God absolutely has feminine characterisitcs...
However, he chooses to refer to himself in the masculine... and Michlow is NOT disputing that.
Take the time to really read what she's said.

If God is the Groom (masculine) and the church is the Bride (feminine) then perhaps the men of the church should act a bit less manly.

No, it's humans who have characteristics of God. We were created in GOD'S image, not the other way around. So, no, it isn't that God has masculine or feminine characteristics, it's that we have divine characteristics.

I have to ask: if we, as humanity, are made in the image of God, having divine characteristics (the whole divine label is a bit, shall we say, strange for me), and we (humanity) are both male and female, then isn't it logical that our characteristics being male/female (depending on gender) are both a result of divine characteristics?
Just a question, wondering what your thoughts are.

Please let's be careful to consider that the scriptures do NOT witness that WE ARE THE BRIDE of CHRIST, but rather, the scriptures share with us an understanding involving PREPARATION but using something we (in creation) understand...marriage-grooms-brides
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. [ Rev 21:2]
Our understanding of this scene in the Kingdom of God is greatly served because we have an understanding about brides and grooms.

Is it really our being male or female that makes us in the image of God? Are the mere animals and birds and fish of the sea that were also created male and female created in the image of God? No, they are not. Thus, being male or female cannot be what makes us humans in God's image.
