From a Christian standpoint what do you think should be done about the problem, understanding that if they had not swam the river illegally, many of them in our churches would not be saved today!
How do we balance this problem out from a Christian standpoint?
Just some thoughts on the matter!

I am reminded of the case of Philemon.
He was still a slave.
The right thing, for his time, was to return to his owner-- something that Paul facilitated.
All illegal immigrants should be deported, immediately.
Their children, though born in America, should be deported with them.
For the Americans who have married illegal immigrants, knowingly or not, after their family is deported, they can follow the legal process for gaining citizenship for their families.

What do we do?

Report them, once we have the knowledge that they are indeed illegal.
No witch hunt is needed by the church, but if it is ever made apparent to church leadership, there is Biblical precedent set by the case of Philemon which should compel the church leadership to facilitate the deportation of the illegal immigrant.
Under no situation, should the church knowingly harbor criminals.
I will go one step further.
If I ever get to know someone and it becomes clear to me that they are an illegal immigrant, I will notify the proper authroities, church member or not.
There is not a smiley and I am not joking-- not in the least bit.

Re: Your answer to illegal immigration.
I served on the Mexican/Arizona border.
We had our orders, to observe and report, but we also had our loaded weapons and was not prohibited from using them, as long as it was justifiable.

God help the sinner that comes through the doors of your church.
Following your logic if you found out they used cocaine last week, (a felony), you would be honor bound to report it to the police.

Not necessarily.
If a drug dealer tries to do his deals in the church, or on church grounds or in my presence, I will do what I will to stop him.
The same thing with a person committing the crime of being here illegally.
The illegal immigrant's existence in my country is his/her crime.

Feel free to elaborate.
I need all of the Grace of God that I can get.
However, the case of Philemon is my moral basis for my strong opinion against amnesty for illegal immigrants.
I am open to being swayed in a different direction, but you are going to have to deal with Philemon.
If you can write off the legal implications of Philemon, then maybe my mind can be changed.

Lot of hate in the world.
Grace is a forgotten term.
He will get as much mercy as he gives.
Which of the 10 commandments are illegals breaking?
