I have never heard of them either and I had two brothers.
Now my husband may have heard of them. However, according to him corn cob fights were the best, or maybe that should be the worst. Worst if you got hit, best if you tooken down. In the barn no less.
I was never a fighter. Never came close to a fight that I can remember in school.
Now home was a different matter, because as I mentioned I had two brothers. My younger brother one year younger was about 14 and had started fighting with his fist.
The very first time my parents left us unsupervised we got into a fight. I had the radio on and my sister and I was washing dishes, no such thing as a disherwasher in those days, listening to the radio. My brother turned off the radio and turned on the tape player.
No problem I just march right in there and turned off the tape and turn back on the radio, after all I had turned it on first.
Well, the little scramp turned off the radio again, and the war begun. He swung his fist at me and all I did was just block the blow with my fist.
He quit the fight and when my parents got home he told them I broke his arm. They took him to the doctor and sure enough his arm was broke.
And guess who got in trouble??? You guess it me! I was simply defending myself, that was all.
The problem is he told everyone at church and I thought I would never get a date. I don't know why???
