While I agree with Wholehearted (the poster) an very little, he has said his church is small (I "think" about 30 give or take a few). Some have used this against him and I took great exception to that since by his own admission the town he is in is also very small (a few hundred if I remember right). If 30% if a town went to my church I would consider that a success!
So SCALE is important.

If less than 30 percent of a town became part of an Apostolic Pentecostal church I would still consider it a success.

Does anybody have any idea what percent of the U.S. population is Charismatic/Pentecostal? Or what percent of the largest 10 cities in the U.S. is Charismatic/Pentecostal?

That's like saying that Bro. So and So is a great guy, but . . .

The words after the "but" aren't cancelled by the words before.

Whether or not you or I hate pastors is irrelevant to this conversation, as are whatever labels you or I may wear.
Do you really want the last word? You do not intimidate me...I know you.

Re: What Would You Do if This Was You?

It would be hard to say one way or the other...some people are happy with small numbers...others hold their own but grow little...
I guess he would have to know in his heart what the Lord wants of him...Noah had 8...however that is used too often by lazy people...
Every soul we win is precious and to that one it makes a difference where they will spend eternity...
Is this real?

You can't "breed" a church.

It sounds like a lot of well meaning people are stuck in a rut. What is usually required in these situations is some sort of shake up. Another person starting a similar church in the same town will often get things going. Two or more churches are often greater than the sum of their parts -or members.
Bro. RandyWayne,

Could we dialogue a bit more on the bolded. In what way do you
come to this conclusion that there is no comparsion to a church and
a family.

Blessings,

Falla39

He's been pastor for almost a decade.

- Membership is 30.

- There is minimal compensation and he works a secular job fifty hours a week.

- The church building is an embarrassment, but paid for.

- Started the church from nothing.

- He pays some of the church bills out of his own pocket.

- The church members are apathetic.
Sounds like my dad. Although he no longer pastors because the building wasn't paid for and he had to pay out of his own pocket the church mortgage. He tried that with 3 different works, but they ultimately failed.

Yes, please.

Why would I have any interest in intimidating an Internet persona?

If you know me, then you know I'm posting with a smile on my face, and that I take the last word thing as a personal challenge.
