Sister Sherri Todd Bentley and Benny Hinn are disgusting. It's not a matter of everyone believing what I believe, if that were the case then the rest of Pentecost would be in trouble. It's a matter of men and women ripping people off under Jesus name. That's wrong and wicked. Evil is knowing to do right and doing worse. Those people know the Word, why do they hurt people so bad in our country to give Jesus a bad name.

Ahhh......no, it means that they are flipped out weirdos. Why do I say that? Benny Hinn said that Jesus was supposed to appear in person on the stage of one of his crusades, Oral Roberts said a fifty foot tall Jesus was going to take him home (wherever that is who knows?), and Todd Bentley said God told him not to preach about Jesus, but tell the people about the ANGEL?

Sister Sherri we are not talking about a difference in Eschatology we are talking about full blown chaotic comic book foolishness.

Then they need to get upset and kick the flakes out the door and correct the warped and weird goofy stuff that is in their midst.

Jesus is moving in a great way, when are you all coming down this way?

We were actually there the first week in July for four days, but it was for our 30th anniversary, so we weren't exactly visiting anyone else. We did eat at the Sea Watch twice in those four days - my personal favorite.

And by the way, I wasn't talking about Todd Bentley in the above diatribe - I was talking about the way you keep lumping "Charismatics" in one heap. They are as diversified as Pentecostals in what they believe and will accept. The vast majority of them do not approve of alot of what you see on TBN.

Evang. Benincasa, so many things you post I don't agree with and sometimes it seems you are a bit harsh. However, I do respect you for always standing for what you believe. You have a conviction and it appears that you really believe it and no doubt live it. You and Rev. Epley both stand by what you believe, and even though you both can be harsh, it doesn't seem like either of you say things just because you want to show the rest of us how holy you are compared to us (unlike a couple of others on this forum). I pray God blesses you and your beautiful family.

When they become adults they will be able to handle the Todd Bentley's of the World, and tell it like it is.

My dear I haven't the foggiest idea to why you would offer such a scenario?

If you would need for me to jump through hoops to please you in order to have you visit with us. Then I would highly doubt that my Brothers and Sisters here would continue to have respect for me. I'm so sorry that I didn't meet with your approval, but I don't have to, and you don't have to meet with mine. It's all about want and need, and they are two totally different things. We NEED to do lots of things, but if we don't WANT to do them we won't do them. You can't force people to do anything they don't want to do, so one should NEVER try. Jesus never forced anyone and He never chased anyone down to straighten out a misunderstanding (thank you Elder Burk).

What ever church you attend be at peace with your choice, and look for someone to tell you the truth, and not some sappy fluffly, sticky sweet drool.

I hope I answered your question, or your dig, whatever your intention was.

Brother Benincasa
Let me start by saying that I don't expect you to do anything to please me. You have to please God and walk in your convictions. The only point that I was trying to make is that through your posts you come across extremely harsh. You probably realize that and don't need to hear that, but it is just my opinion. If you lived down the road, and you invited me to your church based on what I have read, I would not want to visit, because I would feel like I would get beat up.
My pastor does not preach fluffy, sticky, drool; He preaches truth, he preaches the Love of Christ, and loving your neighbor. He preaches that true holiness comes from the heart change and it will manifest in your everyday life and thoughts.

It wasn't a dig, it was an observation.
If it was offensive, I apologize.

Ok, I thought you dodged me because you're husband doesn't like to interact with conservative Apostolic Pentecostals who are as humorous as I am.

I tend to do that because they are super strange, and they have never let me down to perform to the highest levels are mondo weirdness.

Although those who left the UPCI and have become Charismatic pretty much remain the same as when they were United Pentecostal Church International, just without the standards. Unless they were wooed away by some goofey ideology they pretty much stay the same.

All I can say Sister Sherri, in "my" experience the Charismatics go from strange to deranged. Todd Bentley is just another reminder why Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, the Dali Lama and Bhagwan Rajneesh (OSHO) gain such a following in this country.

John Q Public is just tired out by the outrageousness which is performed by a group of people who John Q, feels should have a little more sobriety.

John Q is let down over and over again when he hears that their behavior goes from bad to worse. The stories that the news man reports are able to make Marilyn Manson blush.

Lord bless you and your family

I was just trying to make the point that church is not about seeing what feels good to us personally. Because some times what makes us feel good makes others feel bad. Jesus is about Truth, and the sometimes the Truth hurts. It doesn't kill.

Fine with me. The forum is all about opinions.

First of all I don't use the Word of God deceitfully, or try to people please.
In other words I would never tailor my preaching to fit the audience.
The Brothers and Sisters are depending on me keeping it real and honest.
I could never waste everyone's precious time by picking on one person in the crowd, but if you got hit by something I preached, just remember this little saying, (it has worked for me in my own life) "If you throw a rock at a pack of dogs, the one that yelps the loudest is usually the one who was hit with the stone." I teach "Never Take Anything Personal." By keeping that in the forefront of your mind you can consider what anyone says as a plus not a minus. We are all to grow to maturity and we should allow the grinding stone to do its job. Again Truth hurts, it never kills the sincere.

2Cor 4:2

"But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God."

Jer 48:10

"Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood."

Well, honestly, he doesn't get real excited about meeting strangers on vacation, libs or cons.

But, would you agree that Todd Bentley is an entertainer?
Yes, I would agree!!

I tend to do that because they are super strange, and they have never let me down to perform to the highest levels are mondo weirdness.

I agree with this too. We're NOT all weirdos just because we deserted the mother ship.

I have met my share of WEIRD Charismatics, trust me. I was in a prophetic conference in Florida once, which seems to draw every flaky person from ten states around, and there was a guy releasing demons by passing gas. He happened to be right by me, and I WAS NOT BLESSED!!!
