Oh yeah, Brother Pixlers, OH WAIT! WAIT! What about that church in Fort Worth Pastored by that guy who is a hyper genius and has a revelation of the grace of God and the wonders of New Testament salvation that just wont quit? I think its pastored by some guy named Pixler or Bixler or something like that.... I guess its hopeless! Theres only one choice in the area for me!

Please try to visit Peace Church in Mesquite at Beltline & Tripp. There are some precious people in that church. Also, you will love Bro Baker.

That church was pastored my Bro Murray Layne and his son Bro. Keith Layne. Both have passed away.

Which Dallas burb are you located in or do you live in east Dallas or north Dallas or other..... Travel in Dallas not too bad on Sunday.

I would rule out Bro. Stanley unless you are accustomed to a certain kind of leadership which I will not discuss.

Distance is important to me at this time in my life...
Did you mean to say that Murray Lane was your brother, or just that he was your pastor? He pastored my grandparents for a while as well.

Hellooo Dizzy

My Pastor... in fact, I came out of the Baptist Church. At Peace Church in Mesquite, I receive the Holy Ghost and was baptized In Jesus Name in November of 1990. Pastor Murray married my dh and I at Peace Tabernacle as it was previous to Peace Church.

I was wondering about Tom Foster's church, this morning at our church, a family was in front of us, and I thought they might be the Hoover's (j/k steve). However, they did appear to be Mennonite or Amish, they had five girls, age 16 to maybe four, that sat between the mom and the dad.

I met them after service and they had been attending Bro. Foster's, and after further discussion I found that they had attended the church at Heritage Homestead near Waco, Blair Adams the leader. So that explained the conservative dress.

I enjoyed meeting them, they seemed like a wonderful family. I believe it was a God thing for us to be so near them, since we had similar roots. They have attended Lake Highland Church this being the third time and said they were really liking it, and were meeting with Pastor Jim Reynolds following the service.

Lake Highlands is a great church, established fifty years ago as a Church of Christ, invaded by the Spirit of God and wonderful music 20 years ago. Full of real folks, trying to follow Jesus and to serve this generation. Pastor is teaching some on the history of the Church, showing the thread of true discipleship and love of God throughout the sordid history of Christiany.

Bro. Crakjak,

Some have read the story of how our grandmother, Lizzie Blakey, in the
thread, "Falla's Grandmother, Lizzie Blakey, ...", , how the Lord led her,
as a very devout Methodist, to hear the apostolic message. A very few years
after He had healed her as she lay dying of typhoid fever.

After she heard this new message, she fully intended to show that preacher
he was wrong. In searching the scriptures she indicted herself and found that
she simply had not been told this part of the scriptures. Our late father,
fourteen years old at the time, thought it to be Jehovah Witness doctrine.

But Lizzie said, "No, Son, I have searched the scriptures and it's there". He
decided maybe he should pay closer attention to it then. A short time later
Dad decided he was going to be baptized in Jesus Name and told Grandma
of his intentions. She said, "Son, if that's the way you feel, I'll go with you.

He told her she had her church and he didn't want her to feel she had to
leave it because of his decision. She replied, "No, Son, matter of fact a
Church of Christ minister who convinced me a few years ago by the
scriptures that you should be immersed in water at baptism.
I didn't
believe the other things the Church of Christ taught so I didn't join them.
I now understand my need to be baptized in Jesus Name."

I thank God for that C of C minister who took the time to show her that
much. I believe it was the beginning of the Lord leading her into more truth.
Our late father used to say, "Sometimes people won't accept the message
because they don't like the "source" it comes through".

When we were children if something was different than what we had always
heard and been taught, we looked to Dad to discern if it was right because
we knew he studied the Word. But there comes a time we have to seach
out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

Blessings,

Falla39
