I'll have to contact my friend, Jeff Luken, here in Dayton Ohio. He knows two doctors who are currently in the process of moving to Canada to practice medicine. They were telling us about the growing number of doctors leaving the US because of the rising cost of doing business and how the health care system is suffering from cost inflation. I'll see if Jeff can get me in contact and find their sources.

Doctors spend way too much hiring other people to fill out paper work - and you're talking to a dad who spent most of this weekend in emergency rooms with two different injured teenagers.

Surely you're not denying this....this is one of the biggest complains among doctors. The expense to hire others to do so much paper work if they are going to practice. That need not be.

And the Canadian MP's who get special government "favors" also go to San Francisco (Praise the Lord!) for their expensive surgeries.

The number of Canadians who came to the US for surgeries last year was under 4000, most seeking elective procedures that are not covered under their insurance system. Compare that to the 18,000 Americans who died last year (including my mother) because they didn't have the money to go to the doctor or receive the treatments they needed.

Our health care ain't bad. I'm not wealthy or even close. In fact, I've been nearly homeless at times. But even with my own huge medical expenses - which have not resulted in huge medical bills for me - and 3 teenagers who tear themselves up going at life head on - I have no complaints.

And that's all that matters isn't it? Hey, everyone, news flash....pelathais, has had no problem with our system!
The 18,000 who died last year because they couldn't afford to see a doctor or receive treatments aren't really dead...they are just whiners.

Twice I had a kid taken into an emergency room this weekend while my wife and I were out. The kids took themselves in. No one withheld care asking for payment or proof of insurance. They received first rate medical care as if I personally owned the hospital. My youngest even got a warmed blanket to take home.

Why are your kids going to the ER? Either you guys have a lot of emergencies or you're one of those helping to drive up the cost of insurance by going to the ER so much. lol
This isn't so much for you, pelathais, I'm holding out that you had a ligitamate emergency. But if it's not truly an emergency....see a family doctor. Don't go to the ER.
