I am doing it for Christ people. Don't you dare jump on here and criticize my methods of reaching the lost unless you have specific chapter and verse as to why it is wrong. If it is not plain like: Thou shalt not smoke dope... then you are making your own doctrine if you say it is wrong.

Come on. You honestly believe that comparing lights to beer drinking and dope smoking is accurate? Why go to the extreme with this issue? It doesn't make for honest discussion.

As far as smoke machines, I stopped using them myself at DJ events quite some time ago since it became impossible to NOT set off the fire alarms! LOL

.....and far too many people are susceptible to seizures from strobes.

Again, why the extremes? You and the other guy remind me of the church that refused to have drums because having a beat to music was being like the world and it would cause head banging and people thinking it was ok to listen to heavy metal.

Do you have drums in your church? Do you feel their concerns were accurate from what you see happening in your church?

It's obvious that you really don't know what you are talking about. There are lots of churches who have used those things in their church services for years now but they have yet to start having a beer garden behind the sanctuary.

I don't think drinking beer is wrong, and no, it's not Biblical. Getting drunk is what is wrong, and that IS Biblical.

Having a bikini contest violates the modesty teachings that are Biblical.

Can you possibly have honest discussion, or is this what you expect me to respond to? We are talking about lights here, not involving ourselves in the sin of others.

Well, I'm a newcomer to posting but have lurked for a long time. Hi everyone!

My take on the smoke and mirrors is that I have seen emotional altar calls but no long lasting fruit. It is sort of like the seed that was thrown by the wayside. These types "did not understand" and the wicked one quickly took it away. (MT 13:19)

It appears that it is an emotional response without any understanding of the gospel and it is easily swiped away by the enemy.

As one of my former Pastors used to say, "if your saved by music you can fall away by music". I don't know if that was verbatim but it was something similar.
